Between April and October 2026 I hope to organise one or more Community Open Mic events that are at a time more amenable to the time zones in the above geographical regions.
We last made this change for Open Mic 27 and it is long overdue. On that occasion the start time was 08:00 UTC and I propose the same again.

Possible clash of dates.
Please check all five of the above dates. If you know of any reason why any of these may be unsuitable please make a comment. It may be that they coincide with national holidays or other big events that will mean people have commitments or reasons not to be attending or performing at an online open mic.

If you have wanted to perform or attend one of our open mics but the time was not suitable, and you think that you will definitely get involved, please make a comment.
Hi Richard, great news for the Asia-Pacific region. My one and only appearance was at that last one (OM27)
I sincerely hope that it gets well attended by this region and also by those still in traditional regions if they can make the time fit.
I would of course do my best however the only one I’m home for at this stage is the June date as all the rest i’m due to be in Bali however that may not stop me from trying to pull something together with my phone or something we’ll see.
Come on Oceania, get on board lets make it a good turnout
I would normally be quite keen to join one that’s in a friendlier time zone but we are in the middle of selling our property and unsure of where we’ll be living as we look for our next house, so it’s just too hard to commit until we are settled in our new abode.
It’s been such a long time Ron…I’m not sure I’m prepared to make the effort honestly. Over the years, I’ve come to see the Open Mics as a Northern thing.

June 6th is part of a long weekend in some Australian States. The Monday, June 8th is a public holiday in VIC, NSW and some others. Really don’t know if it’s an issue. But something to be aware of.
At this stage it looks like I can make the July date but don’t move something just for me! It’s pretty far out so I’m not sure what will be on that evening.
By June nobody will have any fuel so we won’t be going anywhere. I’ve checked a calender, the July, Aug and Oct dates all look clear of any holidays/events in Australia.
