Hi David,
I think an overdrive pedal from chineā¦noo ,ā¦ no star for me
I thought a songbook by the Beatles ā¦ I was already shocked ,ā¦ luckily a pedal , have fun with it Happy NPD
Greetings,ā¦
Nice.
Iāve got a Mosky MM Silver which is also a Timmy clone. I donāt use it a lot but I do find it pretty good and useful.
Iām sure youāll enjoy it.
Nice purchase David. I guessed Blues Overdrive simply because I currently have that pedal on loan from a friend. Your purchase gives me an idea though. Iāve sold 3 of my 5 guitars in the last 2 weeks (kept my Strat and my Blue Sky Electric, and still have Kristaās Martin). The plan is to find and buy the perfect acoustic for me, sometime in the next 2-3 years before I retire. If GAS flares up and tempts me with less than perfection though I could always steer over to the pedals and step on the GAS there
@roger_holland classic Roger, and then to follow up with a Beatles Songbook, something that would never be on my wishlist I surely will enjoy it
@RodC Thanks Rod, Iām not big into playing the electric and looking to emulate original tones, so for me a single overdrive to play lead over the looped backing is all I currently need. And so far this pedal is sounding good and already most enjoyable.
@Mari63 it was an excellent guess, Mari, you were reading my mind and it was just the specific pedal choice. Treating yourself to a dream acoustic, sounds wonderful and having sold those guitars hopefully have the funds earning interest. As for pedals, I suspect if one goes all in and starts to build a pedalboard etc then it becomes a fulltime pastime of buying and selling as one explores. Luckily in my case all I need is something to give me an overdriven sound with some grit for a lead tone. Iām feeling quite cumfy that I am not at risk of a GAS epidemic of pedal acquisition
Whatās in the boooooox Se7en
(Sorry, couldnāt help myself)
Happy ngd David, Iām sure itāll be put to good and fun use.
Iām always curious about pedals but with the Katana and now the option of emulation on a DAW canāt see myself getting into it soon, Iāll stick with my simple looper.
Cheers, enjoy it!
Have a nice time with your pedals! I recently bought a new acoustic guitar and Iām selling the old one to buy one or two budget pedals. Itās a pitty here in Brazil budget stuff is way more expensive than it should!!
Caline makes good high value pedals. Nice score! New gear can inspire. This is a good low gain OD pedal that has been around for 8 years or so. It stands the test of time. Would probably be at its best pushing a tube amp IMHO. Good times!
@KevinKevan cool association, Kevin, though nothing as scary I got the looper at early this year and was able to work with it without pedals and an amp without an fx loop. If you have the BK100 with effects loop then I donāt think you need any pedals. Without that, youād have to do what I did and get tonal variation using the guitar controls, since the looper would be in front of the amp. That works OK but is limited. Adding this overdrive, which is decent quality and as cheap as can be, allows far more creativity to set up a rhythm tone on the amp, and then dial in a lead tone using the pedal. Having loads of fun doing that.
@Adaltro Thanks Adaltro. I think South Africa is pretty similar to Brazil in that respect. There is nothing like the choice that one has in North America or Europe, and we pay a premium plus have a weaker currency. I was blessed to be given the looper, which some say is the first pedal one should acquire. A great tool to help improve timing and creativity. This pedal is decent quality and as cheap an option as one can find. There are a few other manufacturers who produce similar and hopefully youāll have some options in Brazil.
@CT thanks Clint, glad to hear your endorsement. Iād never heard of Caline until I stumbled over it in the search results on the online shop, looking for availability and price. A number of reviews were all positive and Iām happy with the results so far. I have a solid state with some limited modelling, a variety of āvoicesā, like clean, crunch, distorted, valve modeling, and a few effects, but so far it is working well to achieve what I wanted from the addition. Hopefully will record over the weekend.
@CT BTW this channel was one of my review sources, Clint, as a pedal-noob, seemed a reliable source of info. As I like to say ānever say neverā but for now I donāt anticipate wanting or needing to get a friend for the Pure Sky. I think Iāll be able to make music to my heartās content with just the one.
