Hi Jim,
I would say that if you do listen to the original song, you will find this is very close to that. When I mixed this I A/B’d back and forth from the original to out mix and tried to match it up. I know the intro synth is not real close, but the rest of the song is. Of course, none of us are pro musicians or singers, so you will find differences there.
Hey Dave,
Thanks for the positive feedback mate! Sounds like Kasper gave you some good info on what he did guitar wise. Thanks to him as other than what I posted prior, I could not delve into the details he did…
Kasper, Thanks so much for the detailed breakdown of tracks. You certainly accomplished your goal of an interesting soundscape.
The reason I asked was that I recall on another one of your posts - it might have been on the old platform - that you listed 12 tracks, I think it was. I was just curious. I’m sure you could have done this in straight front to back tracks, but I can understand now why you do it with multiple tracks. I do appreciate you taking the time to lay it out.
@LBro@pkboo3@Kasper
Yeah, guys, I almost missed it!
What can I say… I listened to it for the first time and was really shocked.
I listened for a second time and heard new shades in the vocal arrangement. And for the third time, I turned all my attention to guitar tracks.
This is the only way to enjoy all this amazing work!
I am delighted with the amazing vocal duet of Pamela and LBro.
I perfectly understand Kasper why he needs 17 guitar tracks in the mix - I love this business myself, but I didn’t have more than eight of them
Well, as a result, we all can enjoy with this coolest perfectly balanced mix
It’s just a diamond in the JG collection.
I’m sure I’ll want to hear it again.
Thank you, guys, so much! These few months have paid off perfectly!
Leo
Hi Leo,
Thanks for stopping by to take in this cover! As you elude to, there was a lot of work put into this one and it took many months to put together.
Thanks on the vocals and guitars. To me, both came out pretty well indeed. It sounds like your ear were pleased with the offering and that is what we aim for. Hopefully we can find another duet to do, though, this one might be at the high water mark and tough to beat.
Wow!! This was just an awesome listening @pkboo3@LBro@Kasper! I loved especially the vocals of both and the electric guitar part…but the all production was so very well done! kudos for always making so much out of your collaboration projects!
I’ll start with the production - which is awesome. The guitars simply sparkle.
17 tracks of guitar so tightly woven. Great job.
Lead work so very tasteful.
Solid bass and drums.
Vocals work well together. Your tones complement each other very well.
If you’re up for suggestions for another joint effort: Patty Smyth & Don Henley - Sometimes love just ain’t enough. Awesome tune.
Hi there!
Glad this one met your expectations and was a good listen. It took months to do as each team member was busy and took a while to track. Alas it came together and is as you hear. Thanks so much for listening and giving your positive comments!
Hi Digger!
Thanks for spinning this up and have a go at it. Thanks too for the kind works and kudos.
I looked up Patty Smyth & Don Henley - Sometimes love just ain’t enough. It is a nice song and I shared it with Pam. We might consider doing it, but I don’t think I could talk a guitar player into it as the guitars are a bit lacking. But thanks for the good suggestion and if you know a guitar player that wants in on this one, let me know.
The stuff I listen do doesn’t have many duets, but maybe Close My Eyes Forever (Ozzy and Lita Ford) or if you want something more up-tempo - Dead Ringer For Love (Meat Loaf & Cher); or if you’re really wanting to rock out - Moth into Flame - Metallica with Lady Gaga version.
Hi Digger,
I had a listen to all the songs you mention here. Uh, they are pretty up tempo and maybe a tad too radical for what we do of late. Not that it is my favorite genre, but country-rock is probably our duet speed. Blake Shelton style more or less I suppose. But man, I hear you on not many duets, M/F are out there. If one never looked or took an assessment, they probably think there are a lot of them. But that is not the case!
