I would like to share little big idea I had when I was about to wrap Christmass present.
This year my girlfriends sister is about to get acoustic guitar as her first instrument. She does not know anything, but I wanted to make it a little bit more⦠mysterious.
I decided to wrap it like bicycle and it⦠ended pretty good.
Did you do anything like that before?
Its just my point of view but I dont like playing with the hopes and dreams of someone especially a kid
thereās always the risk that the person would be disappointed which is not the point of a gift
not something I would do
If I dont want someone to recognize the shape I just put the gift in a bigger cardboard box
the bike is well designed on the other hand , congrats
@GrumpyMac I got your point. Wont do that to too young person. There we are talking about 15 yo girl who already had a bike. I am pretty sure she will like this joke.
I was speaking in general ā¦
if you know the taste of the person you do this and their sense of humor its ok , but otherwise the gift can turn into a bad joke
@DandelionDeb Hello and thank you! Nice to have you there.
If you have free time and will⦠You can create Introduce Yourself topic. Community love to know about everyone new.
And itās easy to see that it wonāt be a bike⦠at least not one of the type Iāve seen before but then⦠what could this strange thing be? Looks awesome anyway!
So I donāt think she would be expecting something by seeing the shape of itā¦?
Probably you all will try to watch her face when she learns that this would be her present.
Once when we gave a journey as a present to my best friend and school-mate and his other mates had bought some really cheap looking CD with sea shanties and a few other tiny presents he wouldnāt find very nice for his upcoming sail-trip, they asked me to wrap it up and I put it in a really big box, and then a smaller box and an even smaller one⦠quite a few ones⦠so my friend in the end only had a tiny present and Iām not sure if he was a little disappointed or if he knew heād get the real present just a minute later.
Bad us teenagers!
PS. these days, we got a bike from your country for our son, a ābeanie zero 29ā
@domi7 Haha, good old box in the box in the box.
I really like those ideas. Last year I made from 3D printing āannoying gift boxā and it is just simple storage box, for present⦠but you have to unscrew lot of screws. There are versions with 100 screws.
Bike looks great! I did not know we make these.
I made version with 10 only, This is just for showing the idea.
