Hi Folks, I’m having problems with guitar pro, and it’s administrators aren’t much help!
I download tracks and go to play them in pro and it tells me to unlock them. I don’t seem to have a pass word to do this. Anybody any ideas? apparently my signing in password isn’t the one I should use. Bewildered!
Julian
Hi Julian,
maybe ask the source where you downloaded the files from? They probably were the ones locking them with a password.
Good luck!
If the GP is locked, it usually means it’s locked against being modified. That doesn’t stop it being played.
Cheers,
Keith
You can change the bpm it plays at, set it to repeat, and turn the metronome off/on. As others have observed, you cannot save that change.
Thanks Folks, the files are from Justin. So from the discussion above it seems that they are supplied locked so I can’t unlock them? I want to change the bpm. So, I’ll try Judi’s suggestion above, and get back!. At the moment I click on the BPM button and the small sub-screen doesn’t appear so can’t alter BPM. I’ll try setting it to repeat and alter the metronome and see…Software eh!
Many thanks Julian
Just had another go, the BPM dialogue box won’t open, so I’m still stuck!
Julian
Just started a new file of my own, unlocked, and the BPM automation box opens. So it seems It won’t work on a locked file.
Julian
Julian.
This has been discussed on prevous occasions - good advice for you in this topic. Blues Studies Guitar Pro files are locked
ps
I have changed your topic title.
This will help you and others find the conversation in future for similar issues.
ah! I’ll have a look!
Thanks Richard, that’s working. I’m pretty new to this software stuff so I’m on a learning curve! At the moment I’m spending more time learning software than playing guitar
I fell into that trap but like you, I took the advice and I now know what I need to get past the six-month course then I’ll dive into GP8 and learn more
