Hi Gordon,
Looking GOOooood
Thank goodness for many E-bikes exist
Greetings…
Electric or not, it’s great to be outdoors and having fun! (Also, you appreciate how heavy electric bikes are when the battery dies ).
Have a great time Gordon!

Was wondering whether you felt the quake yesterday evening ? Nothing registered here but we are much further North East of the epicentre than you are now. Hope all is well.
Stop Press - apparently the missus noticed it, as she’s confined to the bedroom after a week of being unwell. My study is pretty much a concrete block with a window and I was in the comfy chair catching up on MotoGp. Thought I heard a long thunder rumble or passing road train but she had the full Beach Boys experience !
@TheMadman_tobyjenner
Haven’t noticed any seismic activity here Toby. However we are sheltering in the caravan at the moment from a huge thunderstorm passing overhead! We get packed up on Tuesday so hoping it passes and we’re all dried out before then.
All good things come to an end. . Back in the UK. Tonight near Portsmouth, Friday night near Birmingham, then will blast it back up home on Saturday. for no traffic jams on M6!
I’ve really enjoyed having the guitar with me. So pleased I bought it and brought it. Added an extra dimension for a hour most days. Didn’t learn anything new, mainly played my favourite oldies and noodled.
Jusqu’à la prochaine fois, mon ami. La France vous manque déjà !!
Merci mon ami! Oui, jusqu’à la prochain fois.
Safe travels back home Gordon, especially as you have to drive through England.
Not casting aspersions but this version may help. #indyref
Love to see Ms Weaver do the whole song.
Under the influence, not me ossifer!
We are home. 2000 miles. 3.200 km.
The thing wrong with holidays is the state your garden is in when you get back. The weather in Scotland while we were away was unusually good. (That in itself is particularly annoying!) Anyway, I’ll get it sorted. Tomorrow, cut the grass. Cut all the side shoots out the tomatoes. Water all the pots.
Good to see you home safe Gordon.
Remember back at the start of this thread I had problems with the tuning on my ‘travel’ guitar due to the changes of temp/humidity. It all settled down after a day or two.
Well I’ve just had a few strums on my D28 and SG that were left at home. After 24 days untouched, they are both in almost perfect tune!
I’m sure it’s not rocket science but for anyone worried about travel issues, clearly guitars are actually pretty stable and tough things and I would guess that unless subjected to huge changes in temp/humidity or left in the same place or taken on holiday with you, they will survive.
I love that prs very nice guitar .
Happy hollidays Gordon!!
Hi Gordon,
lots of gardening fun in the coming days … there is no better place than home …in the garden , where you enjoy extra by going on holiday every now and then … the good life…
Greetings…
Hi Rogier. Back to reality! Spent the last two days cutting the grass, hedges, weeding and generally tidying up. Everything, especially the weeds seem to grow more quickly when you’re away!
On a positive note, we’ve now got the whole summer to enjoy the garden.
Those of you who’ve followed this thread will know that it’s not just the guitar you travel with that’s important but also what you drink whilst playing and does it offer a quality bbq accessory holder .
I’m seriously disappointed that my latest single malt came in a box that is no use for holding skewers, tongs etc.
Here’s what they say about the whisky.
Guitar reviewers eat your heart out.
Cardhu comes from one of the oldest of the Speyside distilleries, which have nestled in foothills near the River Spey for 200 years. Members of the Cardhu whisky family are lively in character and surprise with every sip. Distinct honey on the nose with some clean, firm grain followed by rich malt. Exotic fruit follows with mango and kiwi. Some grassiness and light note of peat way in the background. Big entry into the mouth with immediate wave of ripe malt which brings out some spicy notes and hints of vanilla. All the while there seems to be a little rumble of peat way back in the rear. Soft, satisfying finish. Our Master Blender has carefully selected casks to create a mouth-wateringly sweet malt whisky with a quietly spicy finish. Gold Reserve is fruitier and warmer than the classic 12 year old, its initial sweetness is cut by crisp orange zest followed by a subtle mineral dryness. Cardhu Gold Reserve is a great choice as a sweeter aperitif. Beautifully presented in gold luxurious packaging, Cardhu Gold Reserve makes the perfect gift for any whisky lover.
What cheap cardboard I’d take it back.
You need good Alberta Whisky it comes in a sturdy wooden box.
Wow, at that price it should certainly come in a quality box Rick! You could buy a travel guitar and a bottle of beer for that.
