Have you named your guitar(s) yet?

This is pretty uncool.

You’re right… not so cool & I apologize if I offended anyone while trying to be funny.
Sometimes my ā€œnot so politically correct ā€œ humor carries me away. Sorry.

A lot of beautiful guitars in this thread here already. So many great pictures and stories behind them. :star_struck:
Thanks for sharing.

My two faithful fellows would like to join here, too. Both got names on the day they moved in.

So, gentlemen and ladies, please let me introduce …
Blackie and the Red Special.

Sorry folks, I won’t tell you who is who. But please feel free to guess, I’ll give you three free tries

Might need more than 3 tries. I’m colorblind.

Nice guitars. Couldn’t help but think of the George Thoughgood song ā€œI Drink Aloneā€

ā€œ Yeah, the other day I got invited to a party
But I stayed home instead
Just me and my pal, Johnnie Walker
And his brothers, Blackie and Redā€

Cheers

Hi Tony :slightly_smiling_face:
Thanks so much! Of course they aren’t rare or ā€œspecialā€ in any way, unlike lots of other guitars here, but I don’t care about that. They have been my companions for many years, and they are very dear to me.
So your kind words are very much appreciated

@OpsRes
Hello Glen :slightly_smiling_face:
Thanks a lot! Yes, you are right about the song. Haven’t thought of this one before. I guess, I didn’t even know the song when I bought Blackie as a teenager soooooo many years ago.
So maybe I need a third guitar now and name this one ā€œJohnnieā€?

All this talk of alcohol brought this one to my mind… If you get a guitar called Johnnie you have to play this song with it at least once per day

Oh yeah … can I request a tutorial for this one, please? :innocent:

There are some tutorials on YouTube  Not going to post any link to them… Easy to find though :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh thanks, I’ll surely have a look …
And I’m wondering how a guitar called ā€œJohnnieā€ would look like.
Will it rather be an electric or an acoustic one?

Hmm … You will know that once you find the one that speaks to you :slightly_smiling_face:

That really can be dangerous. Whenever I’m in a music store, I do hear frequent whispers of ā€œBuy me!ā€ all around me
It’s very hard to decide (or resist)

I think it would have to be this one:

A Martin D-35 JC in black … Johnny Cash played this model from 1982 - 2003

OK, I’m out … :innocent:

Perhaps it can be considered as a reward for myself when I finally pass Grade 7 someday (and win the lottery )
Well, I haven’t even started Grade 2 yet, so there’s still time …

try telling that to car guys!! :grinning:

Are they boy or girls guitars? That would dictate a proper name. But a guitar by any other name is still…a guitar.

I’ve had guitars that were named after girls, boys and other themes. One is ā€œRoadkillā€, another is ā€œGreat Gatsbyā€.
