Welcome!
Happy second guitarversery and NGD. ![]()
Hi Gunhild! I wish you a very happy second guitarversary
! You made good progress within this time, hitting the last modules of Grade 3 after only two years isn’t slow at all! It took me much longer to get there
.
I hope your journey will be as motivating and satisfying as it is now for the next years.
Did I miss a NGD post here?? What kind of guitar?
Edit: Just looked it up… are we talking about “Blue”?
Maybe let us hear the new guitar! ![]()
Thank you so much for your kind words

Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes, Andrea

Oh yes, I’m sure that I’ll stay motivated and continue my guitar journey, even if it’ll be slow (but steady).
I’ve spent quite a lot of time consolidating Grade 2, because I had (and still have) tons of fun with power chords. Suddenly I had been able to play along to lots of my favourite songs, and this just feels great.
Yes, my new guitar is “Blue”, a replica of Billie Joe Armstrong’s legendary one. I’m a longtime Green Day fan, and this wonderful guitar is just perfect to practice my favourite songs
![]()
But I have to admit that it wasn’t actually a “New” Guitar Day, because I’ve bought her from someone who played in a Green Day coverband.
So for me it wasn’t exactly a NGD, but a “Used Guitar Day”.
Well, the English have a much nicer word for used items and call them “preloved”. I like this word a lot, and so I’m the proud and very happy owner of this nice preloved “Blue” now. ![]()
I’m looking forward to the next years of my guitar journey and everything that is yet to come ![]()
Herzliche Grüße aus Dortmund an den Rand der Alpen ![]()
Hi Gunhild, happy second guitarversary and congratulations on your “new” preloved blue guitar. Perhaps since it has been played in a Green Day cover band, the guitar will respond well when you play your favorite Green Day songs.
Happy guitarniversary ![]()
You have a lovey Red special , I hope you re stull using it regularly ^^
Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes ![]()
Yes, the guitar was often played on stage, so she is much more experienced than me. She is already familiar with the songs and knows what to do when we practice together ![]()
And I hope that one far day maybe a tiny little bit of the magic rubs off on me ![]()
Thank you so much for your kind words ![]()
Oh yes, I like the Red Special a lot. She was a present from my dad who sadly is no longer with me.
And she was the main reason why I started my guitar journey for a second time after a hiatus for many years: I could only play about four open chords, and that didn’t do this lovely guitar justice.
So luckily I’ve found JustinGuitar two years ago.
However, I don’t use the Red Special for my everyday practice, because she is so dear to me ![]()
Happy anniv, Gunhild. I’ve been at it about 1.5 years now, and I’m just starting grade 3. I made/make time for review of the past courses. I wouldn’t rate your progress as ‘slow’ by any means. We all move at our own pace, when we’re ready to move onto the next video lesson, and it takes what it takes to get it right. Enjoy the journey. It’s a nice walk, not a killer race we have to win.
Thank you so much for your kind and motivating words, Jim ![]()
They are very true, and I definately prefer the “nice walk” and keep my journey fun. Just like you I spend time to review past courses and lessons. And I use a fair amount of my practise time for playing songs to keep it fun ![]()
You made great progress in 1.5 years and I wish you lots of fun and success for everything that is still to come

Today I‘d like to revisit my old „Hello“-thread again, because today is my 1000th day with JustinGuitar and this awesome community. ![]()
A great reason to celebrate this and the awesome time I had so far thanks to all the wonderful people at JustinGuitar and in this forum. ![]()
I had so much fun in these 1000 days and I can‘t wait for the next 1000, especially with the upcoming Rock Immersion course

My musical journey would not be possible without all of you ![]()
