Hi Tony ,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun
The search box in the top right corner of this screen

I hope this helps

Thanks, Roger for the pointer! Much appreciated.
Hi Tony @TonyBonvolanta, and welcome! Another place you might like to visit is the Introduce Yourself topic. We’d love it if you’re up for taking a minute to tell us about your guitar journey!
Welcome to the Forum Tony.
Thanks, Judi!
Thanks, Stitch!
Welcome Tony not sure myself but somebody will help you cheers Hec
Thanks, DeltaTyne!
I bought a humidifier with my guitar (knowing bupkis about anything), to find that it was designed for a case. I’ve seen ones at my neighbor (whose wall is hard to see for all of his custom made guitars), and he has little inserts that have sponges in inserts.
I love an excuse to do something in the shop so I modified mine so it keeps the humidity in the guitar (until someone knowledgeable tells me it “is a less then good idea”, that is)
I cut a hole for the humidifier, put felt on the back, and a crude knob.

BC, Great idea for the humidifier. I havd a couple of the plastic ones with the sponge inside but you have brought it to another level. Thanks for a very good idea. I think i will copy it. Keep playing beautiful music.
I recently bought one of these for my guitar room… Humidifier Oskar big, energy-saving evaporator, for large rooms up to 1100 sq ft, automatic switch-off, very quiet | Stadler Form – Stadler Form USA Corp. It is super quiet and seems to be doing an excellent job at the moment.
I just use a regular humidifier to humidify the air of my apartment, which is very dry in the winter, rather than buy a small guitar specific device. I have the guitars on the wall so an in-case device wouldn’t be useful. If you buy a reasonable quality one where you can accurately set the humidity level so that it goes on and off automatically, you can keep the humidity at a fairly constant level in the apartment. But it does depend on the volume of air you need to humidify. My apartment is 100m2 and I keep it at 45% humidity easily.
Mine uses ultrasound to make the steam from water. It’s almost silent and leads to less buildup of microbes as the device is always cold. Those that heat, to make the steam, are a good incubator for bacteria and fungi.
I think this is a better solution if you have several guitars and not kept in cases and it also makes a healthier humidity in your living space for you.
Don’t know how much energy mine uses compared to the device mentioned about which seems low energy consumption, which has to be a good thing.
Can no one take the hint here?@roger_holland did his best to direct the OP to the existing threads on humidifiers/humidification but here we go with yet another thread on this subject.
A bit too subtle perhaps… and Brian says that so often that I’m a bit “direct” tssss … apparently it’s all or nothing
Greetings
You can try so much Gordon to direct folk to using search even showing them previous topics. Its almost as bad as the hello I can’t help you post an intro replies that seem to be multiplying as well.
True, but sometimes people just like to talk things over, instead of reading through past conversations. That’s also one of the reasons for the community, right?
Perhaps having multiple threads on the same topic is a small price to pay for allowing folks to interact directly if they want?
They can easily interact through the existing topics, so no need to duplicate everything. Its why the mods are constantly tidying up the mess. Especially when it comes to lesson related questions but they can only do so much, so members should remember that and try to help them.
And doesn’t the system give you a warning when creating topics that there are several similar topics so why not post there
Exactly. This whole thread could be part of an existing thread and still allow members ample opportunity to interact/talk things over.
