Nice job, very inventive!
One suggestion, you could drill holes into the same face of your leg rest as your screws fit and add weight with lead shot or similar and epoxy it in. It’s something I’ve done in the past to cure neck dive. In your case as the rest is detachable it’s not a permanent addition of weight.

Thanks Darrell. If I was going to try to balance the guitar I would probably attach a counterweight to the end of the body near where the strap attaches. That’s where it would have most effect. But I need to keep the overall weight of guitar as light as possible, as I think I will be pushing my baggage weight limit on this trip. I’m flying Ryanair on one sector and you don’t want to go over your limit with those guys!
