I succumbed ... GAS topic

In recent months I have had need to pick up my electric more than I have done is many a moon. And I have still been struggling to bond with my Strat.
So sneaky-peeky forays across classified ads have been going on. I have been telling myself no. Honest, I have. But all in vain.
I got hold of this yesterday. Gave it a full clean, restring etc. and played it a little this afternoon, including during a couple of lessons. First impressions are promising.
Happy NGD to me.

Edit … these online images show the true colour.

These have a green hue due to the room colours bleeding into the camera lens … it is not this.

Everyone needs a Tele in their lives. Lovely colour, and HH - that should rock.

I have been umming and ahhing over that a long time.
I need a replacement I am happy to keep before I do. Fingers crossed this will serve the purpose. For a while at least.

What dont you like about it?

Neck, sound, frets, shape, overall vibe?

Pin that down and figure out what fixes it

My life has never been tge same since I sold my much-loved and sorely-missed G&L ASAT Special. What a guitar that was.

Itbis officially Charcoal Metallic Frost. The photo seems to have picked up something bluey-green from in the room.

YEAH MAN. :sunglasses:

Jumbo frets. A fix is a replacement neck or a refret.
Plus, I never use the tremolo so part of its Strat-ness is wasted on me.

So you’ve basically got an SG in Tele shape haha nice!

Plenty of strat style necks around if you wanted to swap, go warmoth etc you can choose what frets etc and keep the old neck for resale later if needed.

Ooohhh, very nice! I hope it continues to grow on you over the next few dates.

Yeah … the pickup / control setup is along those lines.
It’s the Squier take on a Telecaster Deluxe.

You never know, I may be wearing it later this week.

Happy NGD, Richard!

That’s a beautiful tele. I hope the two of you will grow together and will spend some fun hours playing and making some lovely noise.

Wow! Great! If it sounds as good as it looks it’s a killer tone guitar…
GAS isn’t something I’m a stranger to… Sometimes with quite a bit of sacrifice  A month ago I also purchased a Tele with two humbuckers, but it’s a humble Harley Benton. I love it.
Congrats on your purchase; I hope your new ax will bring you lots of satisfaction.

Congratulations!

Congrats on your new guitar Richard.
That’s a nice looking color.

I’m also partial to them separate vol/tone controls. Seems like that control layout is prevalent on them HH tele’s. That vol tone control is my favorite as I’ll run in the middle position and then dial in my tone via the separate controls. Infinite control imho.
Enjoy your new guitar man. Great score!

Nice!

That’s a beautiful guitar, congratulations!
I was choosing between Squier Tele Delux and Custom before discovering that new Epiphones will be in stock soon. Now I have an SG and don’t have a Tele (yet).
And there are plenty of great players who use them and the design is so cool.

It is officially Charcoal Metallic Frost. The photo seems to have picked up something bluey-green from in the room.

Looking at that again, if it was that shade of green I’d be more than happy. The ‘wrong’ colour in the camera lens is actually really schweet.

Not a million miles from the Francis Rossi Telecaster.
