Hi Guitar friends…I worked this arrangement out by myself
And this is it! With all its imperfections and just a couple of hicups, a missed G note in the melody and an extra D note toward the end that shouldn’t be there
I hope you will like it nevertheless!
I do love the way learning to play the Guitar makes me work on myself
Very nice. And bonus points for looking at the camera and smiling (something I’m finding hard to do when “lip syncing” a guitar part for a friend’s videos).
Silvia this very entertaining and I enjoyed it … noticed those hiccups but absolutely not those missing notes … and I think there are not very much people who will hear it … you should have just tapped that it was just your arrangement … and those notes did not belong there and an extra D was required
Very sweet the whole video
Greetings
Edit:
I haven’t paid enough attention to this…this is a really big thing…
so…
Sweet sound… I was a fool to give up the classical guitar Such beautiful arrangements more than justify playing a nylon-string guitar.
If I might add a piece of advice… Another great Beatles’ song that you could play is “Here, there and everywhere”. I remember playing it years ago (also in G) and it wasn’t too difficult. Considering your amazing arrangement abilities, I’m sure you’d make a true masterpiece of it.
Meanwhile - great job, Silvia
Uuh, Silvia, I’m full of admiration for the ability to work out those arrangements, like you do! What are a few hiccups or a missing note in this context?
Very lovely arrangement and performance. You are well on your way, my lady!
This is excellent, very inspirational. In fact when I get home I will change the strings on my Yamaha classical and try something similar!
Thanks for sharing Sylvia👍
Thanks for the card Rogier…how sweet of you! And for the encouraging feedback too!
There are some people who get really irritated by imperfections and mistakes…they don’t do it on purpose…they’re just more sensitive than others…I was addressing those people…to prepare them they would get some irritating stops in the Flow of Music …
… and it flew sweetly enough most of the time for me so I’ m much happy with myself By the way it wasn’t a G that I missed…but couldn’t find sometime to identify the right note yet
Thanks Thomasz! Nice suggestion but “the greatest of them all” is already on my list…I’m talking of…Sexy Sadie It’s also in the key of G and there’s something sounding really intriguing in the Harmony
What?! Eh??? … you’re not talking about me, right?
Arranging a simple chord melody is no difficult thing, arranging it in a way that is playable for one’s own skills is more challenging, performing it…oohh…another level of complexity…so much to learn along the way!
That was a lovely version of one of my favourite Beatles songs Sylvia. Clever stuff working out that arrangement yourself. Well done and well played. Your guitar tone was great and puts me in the mood to try a classical nylon string myself.
I’m currently in Marbella Spain so there must be some flamenco guitar shops here!
the objective proof that the most of it flew away decently enough, which is in its turn a good indicator that my skills are developing
ah…well ok…also the proof that those final few bars required another 2 or 3 hundred repetitions
Thank you Andrea! As for the arrangements ability it’s easier than you think and I’m sure you can do that too at this point of your journey…starting off with something really short and easy like Twinkle Twinkle or Happy Birthday is a very good idea…also expecting that it will take much more than wished seems a very good idea to me
Oh lucky lucky you Gordon! Please buy a Flamenco Guitar
@Coda also liked it, and I like it too…but I’m wondering because this is my old cheap Yamaha that I keep at school and I changed the strings last September, and the cheapest and lighter Daddario gauge too, I’m lazy to re-string because it sounds just fine!
I think there’s some magic going on there because when the guitar is in the class my 3 yo pupils love to go and strum it freely…I let them because they’re very respectful and the tension of the strings is not much…yeah there must be some magic!
Thank you for listening, I’m so happy you liked it since it’s one of your favourite! Sexy Sadie next?
Enjoy your holiday
Hi Jim and thank you for listening and commenting so nicely, I much appreciate it!
The hard work has consisted in being patient and just give it the time it needed to develop…also a lot of repetitions
