Hi Molly,
I have been wanting to take this one in for a while but have been busy of late with the garden and outdoor chores.
What a wonderful offering! Very well played with your finger picking and strumming. The vocals were spot on as well. I also liked the blend or mix between vox and guitar. Very well done and balanced with a bit of the vocals on top. Nice job on that too.
Ok, don’t take 10 months till the next one! Uh, I guess that is my line in looking back this way.
Thank you so much LB for checking this out and leaving such a kind comment! And no, I won’t take 10 months till the next one either, I try to take one or two videos a month, which I do but they are not always worth sharing: I am discovering how much of a difference it makes for a performance / video to really feel right if the song was “cured” - a process of learning, then leaving it, picking it up again, trying to remember it etc and that over a longer period of time. Its fascinating how much more in control of the music I can feel after a few more months.
But there is no mix here anymore in my audio! All audio now is recorded on a zoom H2n and then aligned with the video. I bought the zoom for “out in the field” recordings but was impressed how much better the recordings sound to what I was doing before (microphone + audio interface + Daw). I could still polish the audio in postprocessing, but usually don’t, so all the soundengineering is reduced to getting the zoom in at the right angle so it captures both voice and guitar in a good balance
