I have been wanting a Gretsch for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger! I first played one (a very similar model, not this exact one) back when we went to go buy Dan his drums at Guitar Center. He was nerding out with the sales person over drum stuff and I snuck over to the guitar wall to kill time. I was very impressed with the one I played. The neck felt really nice in my hand and the action was perfect. It just seemed really easy to play. I put it back on the wall and left the store, but the seed had been planted
Fast forward to yesterday and I finally decided it was time. I had some gift card money burning a hole in my pocket that needed to be used I had played the one I ended up buying a couple of times in the store when we were there buying other small things so I knew I liked it. I plugged it into the same amp I use at home so I could get a sense of how it sounded. It was love at first play
The color is a metallic black. It’s impossible not to look cool with a black guitar, right? the metallic finish gives it a little different flavor than just a solid black and I love the Bigsby too. The pic of the headstock shows the metallic finish.
And now, why you’re really here: (yes, I still need to pull the plastic off of it)
Ohhh - black top, golden hardware, very very nice. This seems to be a limited edition. Difficult to get here in Europe, as it seems. It looks heavy, but it has a chambered body, is that correct? Congratulations Jennifer!
Oh great!
Thanks Jen!
How long was my GAS satisfied for? Not even 12 hours
My first two leccys were black and I loved 'em. But I couldn’t afford GOLD
… and I’d kill for a Bigsby, just for the look.
I think I may be banned from buying more guitars for a while But I love and play all of them. Technically, I have room for one more guitar on my rack…
It does have a chambered body, so it’s not that heavy actually. And yes, it is limited edition. The store only had this one in stock, so I wanted to get it before someone else did. I didn’t want to take the chance of it not being available later on.
Same! That was the combo I was looking for
I’m guessing it will be making an appearance at the next OM
Thanks Toby! I could tell right away when I tried this one in store that it would end up being very well loved
Sorry! I assume no responsibility for the resulting GAS I really loved the black and gold combo. None of my current guitars have gold hardware and I LOVE the way it looks
