Bump!

Wow, that is a great idea. So, here are my coordinates:

City: St. Gallen
Region: canton of St. Gallen
Country: Switzerland

I hope, that this helps to find a jam buddy in the neighbourhood, although until now I seem to be the only JG student in the east of Switzerland … :slightly_smiling_face:

Great idea & love all the responses!!!

I’m in the Balloon Capital of the World…
Our Balloon Fiesta is happening this week. Yesterday I watched several hundred balloons flying over the city… beautifully ā€œpaintedā€ sky!!!

Velkommen, min ven!

It gets worse Brian… I’m a pilot too! Just between balloons at the moment, guitar is taking up a lot of spare time & money! :money_bag:

I remember you mentioning you worked at air traffic control, and the balloon thing, but didn’t know you piloted them. I would have thought that was a far more ā€˜money-draining’ pastime than the ol’ six-string?

Well, like the guitar, the biggest expenditure is the buying a balloon & in my case, an enclosed trailer to store it in. Then, I found that I needed to purchase a pickup truck to haul the trailer & put my chase crew into for the flight.
After that, there’s propane costs & feeding the crew… since your chase crew are all volunteers, it behooves one to take good care of them so they show up for the next flight! So, yes, ballooning is a ā€œpriceyā€ sport that only gets more expensive if, during the landing, your balloon lays down over a barb-wire fence & you get to take it to the Repair Station!!! :grimacing:

Guitar, on the other hand was relatively inexpensive until my wife bought me the electric guitar I had been wanting - damn the woman!!!

Now it’s cables & pedals & amps & more pedals & audio interfaces & maybe a DAW & still more pedals & maybe one, maybe two, maybe a whole bunch of more guitars…

Funny, with balloons, I never wanted more than ONE… and the only GAS I had or needed was propane!!!

They didn’t warn me about GAS with guitars…

Well Todd, if you sell all your guitars and accessories and take up the recorder, you can invest in a fleet of balloons!
