Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing (but not what we usually hear)

Hi,
I skipped my May allowance altogether for various reasons, but here I am again in late June  with one of the greatest hits in the rock history. I have recorded my own version more suited to the mood I always try to create in my original songs. I sincerely apologize if you think I’ve departed too far from the original J. Hendrix’s masterpiece.
I used my Boss GX-1 as an amp/cab modeler, multieffect and audio interface.

Sounds good to me!
Your interpretation and what suits you works well with this song. I liked it!
And this comment comes from someone who mostly don’t use effects. Well Done Tomasz!
Thanks for sharing.

Really nice. When the lead comes in, it almost sounds like Gilmour playing Hendrix, cool feel.

That was really beautiful. Thank you for posting.

I’m wondering what effects you have on there. I don’t know too much about effects and I hardly ever use them but here they add a lot to the ambiance of the piece. Reverb and delay? I was asking more about the intro part rather than the lead/solo part.

I listened to this just this morning and it’s such a soothing piece of music.

This song has been covered so many times that it’s hard to say

It’s a beautiful version with a fantastic mood. I wish you added one more verse to make it a little bit longer…

@Prof_Thunder @JackPK : Thanks so much, guys! Your opinions matter a lot to me.

The chordal track consists of two guitar lines; in one a chorus is used + the usual del/rev, the second is just a slightly modulated delay effect. The lead line was enhanced with a bit of del/rev only.

Very good Tomasz you are keeping your standards very high.
The Hendrix recording had a little edginess to it I feel but your’s seem to focus on a purer melodic approach.

John–thank you very much for your kind words. Truly appreciated.

Oh, absolutely. I’ve never meant to compete with J.H. original, but since there have been numerous different versions published I thought my own humble rendering would do no harm…

Tasty! It’s not little wing, which is perfectly fine. You added your spin, and that is really a cut above. Dig it!

@PeterFS @CT : Thank you so much for the kind words. Very encouraging, and I mean it…

I agree. I simply love the chord progression which is distinctive enough to retain the song title and the author’s name. I play it often, so I decided to give it a go and record it. Started with the chords which is what I normally do, then played whatever my heart and soul dictated… I’m truly grateful for your comment and glad you liked my version.
