John Farnham You’re The Voice

Hi fellow Justineer’s
This one was a tough one to do.
John Farnham has an incredible voice and I can’t sing anywhere near his key. The timing in this song is challenging at times but I think I got through it ok. Your feedback appreciated as always.
Cheers

Great effort. Very few can get anywhere near John Farnham’s voice.

It’s amazing how some songs immediately bring to mind certain memories. I was 11 or 12 when this came out, living on a farm in Western Victoria.

Thank you Chris. Yep songs can do that. This one has that sort of impact on a lot of us Aussies for sure. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

A hard song to take on, well done Ron. John Farnham is a fantastic singer/songwriter and his Wiki is quite an interesting read, having performed with and supported many famous musicians.

Another excellent cover: very enjoyable, and for me, like others, evocative of a certain time in my life.

Appreciate the encouraging feedback Brian. Thank you. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Hi Ron, I really enjoy your covers, but I wish you wouldn’t use so much vocal fx. I’m sure I’ve said this before. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Great performance! I really enjoyed your singing and your work on the instrumental part of that song. Never heard it before. Will look up more on Farnham when I get a chance. Were the backing tracks you used part of the original?

Thank you so much Phil. Really appreciate it, :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Thank you Jim. I am really glad you enjoyed it. Yes you should check out John Farnham when you get a chance. Whispering Jack is an amazing album. The man has a voice…wow.
I don’t use backing tracks with my covers. I have a Beatbuddy drum pedal that I select an appropriate beat from and the harmonies are done through my TC Helicon Play Acoustic pedal and I select them live as I am playing. The guitar work is all me. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks again for your your encouraging feedback.

Hi Ron,

Big ol’ classic tune.
Guitar sounds great.
Good job with the vocals. I’ve screeched this out a few times myself. Not at all easy.

Lovely performance.

Very good Ron. I don’t know John Farnham’s work so I don’t have that to compare you to him. But it doesn’t matter. Your performance stands on its on and I like it. Hope this makes sense!

Nice work as always Ron, I just love these Aussie Classics. I was watching a mate play a gig today and we were talking about Sounds Of Then, always gives me chills.

Good work mate thanks for sharing.
