Mac's learning log

On the F chord - if you are making progress on the E shape barre chord, keep with it. If you can play the other mini shapes and Fmaj7 yeah keep at it as there are loads of songs using those versions of F. In fact back in the day, long before I started playing but likely @stitch will have done the, the mini F was the preferable chord.

As for Wish You Were Here, I’d suggest looking at Justin lesson (1 of 4 … think there is 4) that combines the melody and chords. From what you have been doing I think you will cope with that “introduction” to the song. See how you get on but reach out if you need to.

I will , ( being able to make it ring so easily is already a miracle ) , and i already know the Fm7/c , the mini F is way more difficult to use than the Fm7/C so i was wondering if I should learn
it too
It increases my daily practice
Should I be happy to know 2 forms of F or should I learn them all ?
( im pretty sure that the answer is : know them all )

For Wish you were here I was wondering if it was an introduction to picking
placing the strumming on the song when listening to spotify is really hard , i can strum without the song but not with the song

Deborah

Yes, the revised link is working: I suspect you already know that but I’ve only just been back on my PC to check. You are playing the chord well and when it feels really comfortable experiment with the 7th and minor forms.

thanks , I wasn t sure the link was ok

so now my training goals are :

  • working on F barre chord
  • working on different forms on F
  • practicing the chords I already know on songs
  • practicing keeping time while strumming with metronome
  • Hammers on

Its gonna take months

thanks a lot for answering @TheMadman_tobyjenner and @beejay56 , it helps a lot to have a feed back

Happy birthday to you… your strings look a little on the slack side (just joking in case it’s not obvious )

Happy birthday Mac. I love your ‘’ acoustic guitar’’ lol!

Another popular chord change is from f to c. That is where the “mini f” works well.

Keep posting, it helps to keep some of us motivated when not feeling so inclined. :slightly_smiling_face:

Have a good one.

I thought i had some free time today so I started learning " One " by U2 of the website
that would be my first attempt at learning from a video from the website and not from an app
but a colleague e-mailed me and needed a new game for this summer so I had to stop and work …
I will try again when my work will be done

I noticed that I have less back pain since I started playing
My physiotherapist explained to me that it was because I gained some muscles and straightened my back since I play standing up
So playing guitar is good for my health
