@JokuMuu I did the same based on @MacOneill suggestion. I made a couple of practice items where I could record the stats in my daily practice routine and try to beat my “high score” for both naming the notes and finding the notes over a time of 3 minutes. Making a game of it makes it a bit more fun, at least for me.

For Finding The Notes (2nd game in the app) I try to name the notes in string order 6th to 1st as I saw a practice exercise that does something similar.

There’s been a significant improvement in my scores over the past month that I’ve been doing it. My aim is to get to the point where I can do the exercise without hesitation but that may be a while! Thanks for the suggestion Deborah :grinning:

At the end of the week , the only thing left of me will be a puddle of stinky sweat on the floor … I’ll melt

Too hot to practice but I still play melodies for 15 minutes everyday , I dont want to forget them

24 C outside here, 28 C inside and we are waiting for the next thunderstorm…

Wow … The “humidité” on your chart. I feel for you. Hopefully it will be getting a bit colder soon :sun_behind_rain_cloud:

Ooof that’s way too hot for my liking also! I think even just playing for a few minutes each day is something that keeps the good habit going

yesterday it was 30 ° inside my room … a real oven
impossible to play more than a few minutes

I cant wait for autumn to start

Hmm … alternatively pack your
acoustic, sunscreen, some mosquito repellent and find some nice cool(er) place at a waterside and play there.

I plan to do that sometimes when I will finally have vacation soon :parasol_on_ground:

the nearest lake is 7kms away
by bike under the burning sun … Its not a good idea

I dont drive …

Good point. It’s so easy to forget how lucky I am with river, lakes and sea nearby …

I was about to send you a message to ask if you are ok. Hmm …so warm for such a long time. It’s much colder here and we are apparently waiting for the next thunderstorm :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

Look what a beautiful weather I’ll have for my first week of summer vacation Sää Porvoo - Ilmatieteen laitos

Sending cold air from frosty Finland to tropical France

oh my god i need to spend my summers at your place
Im jealous

I can t do anything … its a nightmare … a very boring nightmare

They say summer in Finland is on a Wednesday :innocent:

I can imagine. Hey, you can watch Olympics and now and then very slowly play a very easy melody :notes:

i played a bit tonight i needed it

I perfectly understand :slightly_smiling_face:

I played a bit in the morning before work but otherwise I’ll be lenient with me this eve. I have been at work from around 7:30 to some minutes after 19:00, so I’m really tired. Probably I’ll watch some module 9 videos for the umpteenth time. Time to move on from module 8 :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Deborah,

We are down to a comfortable 20c mid evening here in Normandie, though the last few days were crazy hot, 28c at midnight !!! If I recall you’re much further south than me ? Hope it breaks soon. One thing I’ve noticed over the last 30 years (started holidaying in 94 before we moved) the heat was a lot dryer, 35c in Manche was more comfortable than 25c in a damp UK. Now its got way more humid !

Keep cool and take care !

:sunglasses:

Hey toby !
you re lucky to be in Normandy !
I live in Rhone … 20 kms away from Roanne
so yes its south for you

Thats the main issue
Its crazy damp … the humidity is like a wall hiting you and weighting a ton
Its impossible to do anything because of the humidity in the air , even in the evening , its never cooling down

I m just watching some old tv series ( for the moment Im watching Inspector Montalbano) but i hate watching TV
I only do it when can t do anything else … ( or when Blankety blank is on the BBC )

so for the moment , when I can play / practice a bit … i just have fun on yousician
working on melodies or playing songs I know
just to keep the fingers in shape
easy things only

Im having a break on lessons for the moment , until the weather gets better

the positive side of things is that 28° is a fine weather after 4 days of 34° C
so I felt like I could play

I will count this one as a day of practice since the weather was cool enough today

Day 166 :

Trained on finger stretches and crawling as a warm up and a little stretching exercise and the pinky exercise

Played on Yousician for 40 minutes
31 weeks streak

I play standing up with the backing track :

Challenge of last week : a song called My loving brother level 1 and 4
Level 1 is a very basic melody and level 4 is cow boy chords C F G

Played La paloma basic melody level 5
I finally got gold on the last part

Played a basic melody called Party with yousician , it’s a funky melody I like it
I finally got gold on all parts  ( 9 parts )
Now I will keep on practicing on this one to make it sound nice as a whole song

I play standing up and each songs are played once with the metronome , once with the backing track :

none

grade 2 in JG :

module 10

Practiced the F chord on the chord trainer and without the chord trainer ( F C G Am )
I do pop quizz between songs : hop ! do an F !

Songs

Musopia app : Practiced Have ever seen the rain by CCR
Played also Jambala on the bayou

The musopia app has no sound control
when I play with my headphone i just dont hear myself play , the backing track is too loud
We should be able to control the volume

Hmm… Maybe give feedback about that to Musopia? :slightly_smiling_face:

Good to hear that the weather allowed you to play.
