I ve been to the guitar lesson with my teacher today

He taught me how to tune my guitar by ear using 2 different techniques
Using the harmonics is definitely way above my current level

We did some exercices like the spider , fingers independency to see how I progress
then he showed me a different exercice for fingers independency that I ll work on this week
its a little melody to play ( I love playing melodies )
well in fact he gave me a sheet with tabs for 3 melodies to play , so I think its a goodbye to Ed Sheeran , I ll play this instead
First I need to remember the notes , then I ll work on playing it with legato

Then we played the C major Scale and talked about music theory
finding the notes on the neck in the C major scale
He told me to sing the notes while I play the scale … So I ll put a diagram on my wall to learn the notes
After a few days of practice I should remember it

We finished the lesson on the triads , I didnt learn it on JG yet so its a big mystery for me
I think I should look on the forum and the website about it , it will help me understand what he taught me better

He told me that he gives me exercices cause Im real motivated to learn
and at the central desk, I ve been told that if I make great progress this year I might join a band next year , to practice with other players and jam

Hi Deboray!
It‘s covered in Grades 3 and 4 and in Justin‘s Theory Courses, lots of lessons can be found with the search function.
I highly recommend having a look into Richard‘s Vintage Club Sessions #6 and #9, where he‘s covering triads. He added some great handouts in the download section, that will give you an overview. They are really well made.

It’s really cool to hear your experience with the teacher.

It was one of my goal too and joining a band at my work, but this year, I basically have enough time to practice the blues immersion exercices so I paused that goal.

thanks a lot
I will have a look at it and see if I have enough money to pay for grade 3 in music theory this month

@math07

thats what I said to my teacher , there are times when there s too much to do and you have to make choises
In my view its better to do a little less but doing it correctly , than doing too much poorly

you wanted to take guitar lessons with a teacher too ?

Yes, I found a music school in a city near mine. It could have helped me with some techniques, but I had to commit to a contract of 1 year of lesson (1 per week) with the school. And with the Blues Immersion course, I barely have time to practice the normal exercices so it was too much for now. Luckily, I recently made good progress on my difficulties so I can move forward on my own for now.

Cool to see that you will finally be able to enjoy your new purchase with all pickups

Look who’s back home !

Look who’s got a new toy !

Look who’s the big idiot who didnt buy the Ac adapter that goes with it ==>

before you buy an adaptor, consider whether one pedal is likely to become a pedal board in the future. If you think it will then maybe a power brick with a few outlets (aka a pedal board power supply) could be worth considering. If you don’t see that happening or at least not for some time then an AC adaptor makes sense

I bought way enough guitar gear for the moment
so I have no intention to buy more pedals in the near future , not before next year

probably reverb or delay , Im not interested in a looper yet
working on the sound is so much fun

For the moment an adaptor will be enough but not before next month .
I ll use batteries until then ^^

I love the sound of this pedal

Hi Deborah,
Happy NPD :sunglasses:

That’s one that’s still on my list when I’m asked for a gift idea for myself…

I use this for my (acoustasonic) guitar, but it also works in at least in 1 pedal…but of course buy an adapter for pedals :see_no_evil:

Have fun with it,Greetings

Happy NPD Deborah, did they say what wrong with the Streamliner ?
I recommend going back to the shop for that adapter, who knows what else you may find when there ?
