This morning I went to my lesson with my teacher

He gave me the tabs for the flute parts in Handbags and gladrags , I can play it as a melody
and also the tabs for the bass part
we worked a bit on it

We worked on the Black dog riff
He was impressed that I could play it , he thought it might be too difficult
well I cant play it as fast as Jimmy Page but I can play it

I showed him the little blues melody I wrote during the last holidays
He asked me to record it so that we can work on it / ameliorate it maybe next week
He also told me that my bends were correct and in tune , they are slow but correct so Im very happy

I showed him the phrasing exercise and he gave me some advices on how to practice the vibrato

I also showed him the wish you were here slow intro part he taught me and asked if maybe we can work on the rest of the intro later

I really felt i was progressing

I really felt down today
The group sessions at school wont be held in my town next year
it will be in next town , 10 kms away
I dont drive so I wont be able to go …
ans since its for adults its late in the evening after work , so there ll no more buses to come back home

For once I was trying to go out and socialise in a group and now its over

They told me that I could go to the group here but its for kids and beginners
So im pretty down tonight

You could try the kids & beginners group. There may be opportunities to help other players and develop your socialising with those helping lead the group, and those taking part. Many years ago I helped at Sunday School with very young children: it was a brilliant experience; I benefited from it as much as the children who attended.

Hope you find something local to take part in.

@beejay56 I dont really like the idea of being with youngsters for 2 reasons
they are energetic and noisy and my head do not like that and mostly , I dont share their taste in music
Im getting old and I like music from the 70 s 80 s and 90s
I almost fainted when Marcus offered to work on a Lady gaga song

the only other 2 groups left are : initiation to music and how to compose a song or music
I like the composition group but I bet I cant join cause I dont read music
The initiation must be a group to learn how to read music but I dont really now
it just says music analysis …
but both groups are not made to play music with other people

you can join a “ band “ only in year 4 …

I went to my guitar lesson this morning

We worked on licks and bends and on the minor pentatonic scale patterns and blues scale forms

For the scale patterns , I already know the E and D form so from now on I will also work on the C A and G form

He gave me a little solo to work on to practice the bends

and my mission is to find a suitable ending for the melody I created
using what he taught me today
I think I will watch some YT videos to find an ending lick

I showed him how I place my hand when I do bends and he was not concerned about my form I just need to practice
nothing to worry about for now ,

I also need to work on my power chords , I can place them but my hand is too stiff

It’s a shame about the group moving locations. I don’t have any knowledge of the government systems in France (other than the fierce protests the French throw, which I’m low-key a fan of), but if you are on a disability pension is there a government transport levy or community transport option you can use?

I’ve been looking after my Mum since I was 19ish and she started getting properly sick, and there were services that we used a couple of times to get her driven to doctors appointments. There might be a government or just community initiative like this where you live. OR, you might find someone in the group who lives in your area and you could carpool?

Just throwing out ideas, since it’s something you enjoy so much. It would be a shame to lose access to it.

If I want to go I need to find a carpool but my hopes are not high
they moved the group session next town because most of the students live there , so now they wont need their car
