My pop used to say: "Horses sweat, men perspire, and women glow.
he was a poet XD
I do think my playing is better in warmer weather. Probably keeps the muscles limber.
not me … my palm sweat and stick to the neck
Sweat all over your guitar like a rockstar but keep a bottle of electrolytes nearby like a sensible adult lol
we’re not used to super hot weather in France so I never thought about Electrolytes
I just put a bottle of water in the fridge
There was a commercial on TV about an Electrolyte drink
it was like : “ Michael is a twat , but a well hydrated twat thanks to the electrolyte drink “
it made me laugh
Electrolytes are a game changer in sweaty weather. When you feel washed out and kinda dizzy / empty headed from sweating so long, I swear you can count to five after taking a swig and feel it go straight to your eyes and like wake them up. It’s kind of crazy how much we rely on having the right amount and kind of salt water to function.

The Lick-in’ Riff is not that difficult except for the bloody A7 part
I went to the local music school this morning and said I wont come back
so to remove my subscription
I ve been really disappointed at the end of the year last june
The teacher never watched my videos so never assessed what I ve been learning there
I had comments thanks to the community here but not from my school
thats not normal !
He was unable to have a structured learning program , he was creating a lesson on the spot
even though I was making it easy for him since I told him what I was working on here
the last straw was that I cant go to group sessions anymore
on 5 schools , the only one without group sessions is my school !
Since I do not drive , I cant go anywhere else
Someone proposed to be my driver , so I was happy , but 2 days ago he just suddenly changed his mind and said he resigned from all groups
I was back to square one one week before the lessons start
and also the guitar teacher resigned in july without warning
so there are no guitar teacher now ,
it will take weeks before they hire a new one
I wont pay for a school where I have no group session and also no one to one lessons for weeks
I am furious
In fact all my progress came from the JG lessons ans YS
at school I just learned a bit about how to position my hand better but thats a bit thin for one year
I learned 2 songs at school thats true but I worked on them with the JG app and YS , I never practiced them with the teacher !
Now I have to find a new teacher … a lesson once a month would be perfect

My Gretsch is back from the luthier
All cleaned , new set up and new strings
I used 9-42 and now it is 10-46
Its a pleasure to play with it
I decided to try a new guitar teacher since I resigned from the local music school
I found one near my bus station in Roanne and cheap , 20 euros an hour
I took an appointment and went to a lesson this morning
and it was great
the guy was friendly and he listened to my needs
I said I wanted to work on 3 specific points , he readily agreed and that s what we did
I wanted to work on the rolling technic for Greensleeves
the teacher took his phone and watched Justin’s lesson
then he explained it to me and I understood my mistakes
Now I know how I must practice it , and I will learn it slowly
after we worked on Wonderful tonight by Clapton
I started learning it with Marcus but since he left , I was left with a half taught song …
the new teacher taught me an entire different way of playing it and I really like that version
easier to play , with real licks , it sounds like the original song and not like a scale
now I must re learn the riff but its ok
we finished with the Lick n riff in module 18
Once again he watched the video first and Justin ’s website and then we practiced it
I played it to him and he said that I was doing good
I just have a delay / disruption in the tempo when I change from B7 to A7
so he showed me a new hand position for A7 that might help me
I was happy with the lesson I had
He will send me the tabs after for Wonderfull tonight
I will probably take 2 lessons each months
One for working technics
One for transcribing , i really need to start learning that
and it will cost the same amount of money as the school did

Chapter 4 : The BB Box – Where Major Meets Minor
the BB box is so fun
So many possibilities with it
working on this will take some time
I forgot to explain why I selected this guitar teacher on the web
He was explaining in his ad that he was self taught and he remembers how hard it is for beginners so he just want to help them
I really liked that approach
I do not need a teacher with plenty of diplomas , I just need someone who knows his stuff and who s passionate about it
Both were excellent, Deborah, playing is smooth, relaxed, clean, good feel. And, as always, you dialed up great tones for your guitar that sat well with the backing.
