Hey, that was a very efficient online songwriting cooperation!
Me, being new to it, and experienced Alykat. She kept the process very simple which was great for a noob like me.
Short discussion on style, time signature and scale, then sending song parts back and forth and it didn’t take long until this simple song was made. I had something like a ballroom in the late evening in a small town somewhere in the US in mind.
Main rhythm guitar, main vocals, bass line, intro and outro by me.
Aly took a suitable drumtrack from the internet, added an additional guitar (the bright one), wrote the lyrics and played the nice solo in the center! And she also came up with the vocal melody, did the backing vocals and some background strings with her guitar synth.
I’m rarely happy with my singing - but well - still - I like to sing! Sorry!
At least - after lots of years with few music and no singing at all (what a shame!), I feel it’s getting a little better again lately with a bit of practice.
If you have any tips or critique, don’t hold back!
Alykat can take it and I’m here to learn!
Your singing is great!
This was fun & you are no beginner, my friend!
We completed this in 18 days if I remember correctly & my estimate was 2 weeks, lol.
We both spent time on the mix & would like feedback. My ears are not great anymore & I like feedback.
The song had a really enjoyable groove. Vocals (both main and backing) were great! The mix sounded really good to me.
My only suggestion (which you can definitely feel free to ignore ) Would be to possibly add a few bars where the main groove switches to another key to add interest. The guitar solo (which was really nice by the way) kind of serves that function in the song currently, but while I was listening, the thought crossed my mind, so I figured I’d share it.
Overall great job you guys! Hope you continue with more songs
Thank you so much for the feedback.
YES, a key change is a fantastik idea, maybe on the next one if I haven’t scared Dominique away Thanks again for taking the time to listen!

Well done you two and nice to meet you, Allison I had not heard this before Dominique didn’t mention it, anyway it was really good to listen to cheers Hec
Domi @domi7 & Aly @AlyKat ,
This was a very fine effort by you two… really loved the vibe & thought the vocals were spot-on from both of you!
As far as the mix… I thought the vocals could have been brought up a bit, I read through the thread before listening & I’m guessing that maybe the vocals were intentionally lower because of some insecurity about your singing. I could be wrong, but if so, you’re wrong! The singing was good & enhanced the song!
Aly, I agree with the 50s music vibe… I can envision Ricky Nelson doing something like this! Definitely nothing wrong with that!
Thank you both for the collab & for posting this little gem!
Great work guys. And good work with the vocal Dom definately nothing to worry about there
I definately got the vibe and thought the mix sounded fine. I might have like to have heard just a tad more in the backing vocal but really I liked it as it was anyway.
