My attempt at The Steady Thumb Blues Primer

Hi Community…this is my very first attempt at Blues! It’s been a good challenge and much fun!

Biggest challenge: getting used to the right hand position…the fact that my posture is not defined yet and I tap the foot of the leg where the guitar rests…it doesn’t help :see_no_evil:

This is the best I can do…I took the liberty to re-name it, just in case Thumb is not as steady as it should be

“May the Gods of…Classical Guitar forgive me!” :joy:

Can’t wait to read your impressions!

Hi Silvia,

That is perhaps the very best first attempt at blues that I have seen here :scream: :sunglasses:…doesn’t look or sound like a first time at all :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

No more classical guitar for you  …from now one you eat sleep and breath Blues :sunglasses: ( oke maybe a bit of both …maybe …because it took you to do this in this way )

Greetings :man_bowing:

The Gods of Classical guitar will be singing along with you. As ever, Silvia, you’ve nailed the musicality of the piece. Superb!

Well Silvia that’s a super auditioning recording for BLIM Class 2. You clearly meet the requirements and even the blues has you smiling. A very polished performance. Bravo.

I was over in the Just Chatting section, when I caught the faint but definite whiff of Sulphur…
OMG, I thought- That must be Syliva- at the Crossroads! :open_mouth:

I came over as fast as I could, mi amore, but it looks like the deal has already been done, and Mephisto has had his wicked way with you :sob:
You will remain in my prayers

The Classical Gods will likely forgive you Sylvia, but I won’t! I learned that little blues piece a few months ago and play it as a warm up exercise. Your first time effort sounds better than most of mine.

Will be boogieing away ! Well done Sylvia that sounded really good. I’ve not looked at the rewritten material, as my exposure to STB was the old Solo Blues course. It sounds very similar for the most part but you definitely have it down. Welcome to de Blooze !!

That sounded great Silvia. I don’t know the first thing about playing the blues so will leave it to the experienced blues players to provide feedback. I do know from having visited a number of blues bars here in Chicago that what you played sounded just like the blues. Excellent start Silvia to your blues journey so keep up the good work!

Uuuuh, Silvia!
What a treat for my ears in the morning!
That was great ! Definitly one of the best first blues attempts I’ve seen here.
So fluent and relaxed, you really got that bluesy vibe. Fantastic!

Maybe I should practice some classical guitar to prepare for the Blues lessons in Grade 4 ?
You are always good for a surprise :slightly_smiling_face:!

Hello Rogier! Thanks so much  Yesterday I read your comment soon after you wrote it, but my “playing time” was over as it took something like 2 hours to record, edit, upload the video and make the post…after that I had to rush through the household chores and prepare for dinner but I was just so happy to read all your supportive feedback in the meanwhile!

Do you think that peple are understanding that this is my first attempt at practicing some Blues? …it’s not like I grabbed the guitar and Ta-dah I could play this by magic, I practiced it since the beginning of October…I give it for granted but maybe I should have written it clearer?

:pleading_face::sob: nooo…but I have a plan :sunglasses:

@twistor59 @beejay56 @BigLuc @Elixir1253 thank you all so much guys…your supportive comments really mean a lot to me , make me smile and go ahed on the track like a train :muscle::muscle::blush::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::sweat_smile:

 :sweat_smile: thank you so much!

Thank you Mick  Where do I find your recording?
