Thatās the stuff.
I canāt believe Iāve just now gotten to read this thread. What a fun read. Itās shockingly gorgeous!
Thanks Stacy!
Hi Rob
For me, this has been an absolute good story to read with an excellent outcome , what a beauty But of course I hope it will also play fantastic if you have/can solve the scratchy thing .
Greetings
Cheers Roger!
Its def playable fine as is but a bit of a fret polish will sort that out no problem.
Should get the electrosocket in the next week plus wall hanger and Iāll do a final sort with that middle pickup, put on the strap things too, tidy it up and probably close to being done then!
Iām glad I got something at a minimum playable out of itā¦
Once its actually finished Iāll do another post with some video/audio and finished pics, plus thoughts
Okay, nice to readā¦ no more stress about the āscratchesā here
Have fun with the finishing touches
I use those micro mesh sanding pads too. I really like them. I got the version with the sanding block.
Right these have turned upā¦
Not expecting to have to go hard with these.
But will have to wait until the weekendā¦
Also will fit strap bits, and need to sort central pickup I think the screws are just a touch short esp with the springs so Iāll see what I can sort there.
OK so as part of fixing the center pickup issue I manage to glue a rag to the front of the guitarā¦
Only a drop so teased off with some spirits, light sand and refinish, not bad but yeah protect the surface more Robā¦
Eh you can still tell in the right light if you know where to look but stillā¦
Finished apart from the missing Jack socket.
Really great choices in the fittings, Rob. The black and the rustic colours are just perfect for that guitar body. It all looks so harmonious. Well done!
Thanks!
Wow beautiful guitar, that is my next step is a telecaster .
So beautiful!!
Great job!
Been enjoying following this build, Rob
With your background in photography, it was a no-brainer the aesthetics were going to be spectacular.
Now that itās been born, smack its bottom and make it cry!
Awsome!!!
OK so Iāve spent a couple hours working out how to record video with my webcam, audio/guitar with Ableton + plugin then load both into davinci and sync plus edit.
Dodgy video and even dodgier playing but heres a little something from the stompcaster, this is all on the neck pickup using Archetype Petrucci , isnt it mad how your playing falls apart as soon as you hit that record button!
Iāll do more strumming etc with both pickups later if people are interested?
Looking and sounding good Rob. Well worth all the effort, enjoy.
Cheers Toby!
