Hi Brian,
Happy NGD
I wish you a lot of time together
And donāt abuse me to just play some chords and notes neatly or sloppy in this topic for a sound ideaā¦
OUCHā¦so bigā¦that must have hurtā¦have you finished sewing it up yet? ā¦or was it easier now because you were now allowed to use wood glue
Enjoyā¦and now looking for Jenny apparently he also has a new guitar and I also want to know more about the playability of those other length guitars that I have heard Lieven talk about several times and Richard now tooā¦I so hope they come also very lightweight (less than 2.35 kg)
Aha! Brian has been bitten!
Brain, enjoy your beautiful addition to the family. The G&L ASATs have a well-deserved reputation and you scored it at a great price. Not that I am partial to G&L or anything. @TheMadman_tobyjenner
The G&L V12 is a very similar shape to the Jazzmasters and jaguars, but more versatile. The G&L Doheny is also similar it you want to explore the surf sound.
Not that I am partial to G&L or anything.
things seem stable and youāll forgive me if I donāt do the experiment
thanks Mari, although this was not my chosen colour. (itās āsea-greenā btw) My 'Daphne blue one has faded nicely to a dirty grey I like and no doubt this will fade too, as itās kept in the window bay
āSetting upā is a bit of a stretch, but it did please me that I was able give it a good once-over looking for the main points that I would have been clueless about a couple of years ago
Thereās always a ātrendā Iāll wheel it out at the OM at the latest
You remind me of when I was sent out to the Outback in Australia as a junior doctor and had to undertake postpartum ārepairsā without previous experience. An experience I, and Iām sure the poor mothers even more, would prefer to forget
Mange tak min ven
But then again, we know everything looks good on me (even fat Blues bros. )
Cheers Robert, I had forgotten you āown stockā in that company
Are you talking about the rubber ānippleā or the whole switch?
Vielen Dank, @NicoleKKB
I actually prefer the German āHigh-timeā over Honeymoon or lune de miel
Who else?
I was happy with @Richard_close2uās recommendation for my first leccy too, the Hagstrƶm Viking, although a large part of that was for the looks and name/heritage. I tell myself this one is for a more comfortable play, with improved sound and pleasing controls.
We should call ourselves the Terrible Tele Tubbies for our next performance
If I bring my amp, weāll sound Boss too!
Iāve got the stuffing sorted out- Just need a stretchy fleece and a āthingā on my head
Goodness, for some reason I had it in mind you had a Squier. Goes to show I was focusing more on your amp than axe
Why did I even ask Well, really just to test a theory. Itās said that Leo Fender perfected his vision of what his guitars should be at G&L. So I was wondering if he considered the fact the plastic knob falls off the pickup selector on Teles as a flaw or a feature
Because guitar enthusiasts are some of the saddest sods in the evolutionary pondā¦
nevertheless, I did the experiment just now and pulled the knob (firm enough not to fall off unless youāre āwindmillingā)
In the pic you can see that Leo did indeed improve the design, whilst keeping traditionalists happy:
Itās a cross-shaped slot underneath with a wide (loose) and narrow (tight) option.
Oh my, such attention to detail
