LiveStream 06 December 2024.
Thanks to Justin and all performers / audience members.
Well done to all but i would like to thank Dominique cheers my friend and you sounded great thanks Hec
Thanks a lot to you all! Every one is so supportive!
And a very special thank you to Richard! Youâre doing such a great job here!
Iâm relieved now
I think the experience brings me a bit further!
See you very soon,
Dominique
Dominique â you did great and every experience brings you a little further on. . .even my last open mic experience when tech issues kept me out of the show helped teach me things about being prepared for live on line performances. ITâs ALL good . . . and every little bit moves you forward. . .keep strumming and playing!!
Thanks @Richard_close2u and @FannyJustinGuitar for organising and preparing the show! It is so much fun to practise and then participate in these events. I loved every performance - all different and special and all great!
You put in a really good performance tonight Dominique, and even more impressive with it being your debut OM here.
We all take away something where we can make improvements, but reflect upon your successes and how you put on a performance for us tonight.
Well done âŚ
That was a really good show with some excellent performances. Well done all.
Congratulations to our debutante Dominique.
You were nervous, naturally so, and everybody assured you that they get nervous. It is part of the whole experience.
You did the right thing by resetting and starting again. There is nothing wrong at all in doing that. In many cases, when an error comes early, it is the best option. Many performers at Community Open Mics have done exactly that.
Bravo.
I hope you are able to think about the positives of the overall performance and experience and consider performing at future open mics here - and maybe in real life.
What a great show, thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to all the performers!!
Thank you to everyone for another great show!
All the performers played really well. I thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Congratulations to all performers, nice to listen this show!
Merry Xmas to the community.
Many thanks to @JustinGuitar and @FannyJustinGuitar , but esp. @Richard_close2u who did most of the donkey work on this.
Much appreciated
Itâs always a pleasure to round off another year with a gettogether and a bit of a laugh.
Congrats to @domi7 for taking the plunge
You did great. It gets easier (and more fun) each time you do it
Have a great Christmas everybody!
Well, there might have only been a âbakerâs dozenâ of performances but there were certainly no short measures last night.
The audience were treated to a mix of song genre; with soloists, duos, and one of our resident bands.
It was great to see a couple of BLIMmerâs solo their way up the fretboard too.
Well done Ruaridh for persevering with his iPad cameraâs âwandering eyeâ; great song.
Many thanks to @Richard_close2u in the Green Room, @FannyJustinGuitar at the helm, and @JustinGuitar for hosting.
Lastly, well done Dominique @domi7 on his stellar debut âŚ
It feels a pity that I missed it , although watching the video at a later time is the same as live quality⌠it is not live âŚ
Boxing Day might be a good time
I couldnât join the live event and watched the video later last night! That was a show! Congratulations to all performers and thank you for sharing your musical âtalentsâ (âŚyes, I know, itâs practiceâŚbut⌠) . Is there a chance Justin can make a lesson on the song he played (this or next year)?
Lukily I can watch this recording afterwards; great stuff! <3
What a great edition this is; discovered some tasteful christmas songs and arrangements in this episode.
Once again a great experience with the OM, my first âfestiveâ one. Although I am quite certain that next Christmas Iâll be feeling more festive than this one. I have alreday picked out my song for next Christmasâs show. I very much appreciated the opportunity to sing and play a non festive song last night for an attentive and appreciative audience.
Thanks, as always, go to @Richard_close2u and @FannyJustinGuitar for supporting the whole deal and special thanks go to @JustinGuitar for doing such great things with this platform heâs created over the past 20+ years!! Thanks Justin and Happy Holidays to all!!
-J
What a fantastic show!
I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the show live. Although I was bummed that I wasnât able to play this year (most of my band mates were unavailable) I was happily enjoying the show as an audience member
Congrats to all the performers and a special shout out to @domi7 for a fantastic debut! Your first performance in front of a live audience always comes with nerves, especially when itâs in front of Justin! You did an amazing job and I really enjoyed your performance.
Yep. Last open mic, when I did Police Dog Blues, my fingers werenât in the right spot to start, so i started over instead of just powering through. Glad I did.
Re-watched everyoneâs performances because itâs hard to watch and enjoy when youâre at the end.
@Alexeyd Teach us your ways. Beautiful fingerstyle arrangement and playing.
@jgottwals -Love this song. What a nice tribute.
@domi7 - Very easy going and pleasing to listen to. Seems like a very good genre for you.
@Elixir1253 -Song is new to me. Definitely want to look it up and the artist after your rendition.
@brianlarsen -Never know what to expect from you. Always a thrill. Thats for sure. Maybe one day I can get my piano playing son to do something with me too, but as a teenager right now, he doesnât want anything to do with me half the time.
@mathsjunky -I love your arrangement and how you played this. I also enjoyed that you soloed in the middle of your fills. My favorite rendition of this song is the one he does on Fathers and Sons because of Bloomfield and Butterfieldâs accompaniment, but yours is right up there! What inspired the licks you used?
@Malz and @ElleDeeGee I love this jazz arrangement. I know the arrangement that Justin taught last year, but this was your own thing. Well done. I also didnât realize thereâs a few versions of lyrical differences. You sang âMuddle through somehow,â which is apparently the Judy Garland version. I always knew the âshining start on the highest boughâ version, which is Sinatra. Apparently, the original lyrics were even more melancholy (be happy today because it could be our last Christmas sorta vibe)!
