Being quite new to this forum I am not quite sure of the terminology I know NGD = new guitar day and NAD is possibly new amp day but what are pups,pots and GAS ?
NGD can also be generic New Gear Day. It is used by more than guitarists.
PUP is contraction of pickup
POT is abbreviation of potentiometer (variable resistor used for volume, tone, etc adjustment)
GAS is Gear Acquisition Syndrome

oh, i should also mention the one that tripped me up:
AI - Audio Interface.
I had a rant on artificail intelligence and was politely told I was way off target. A good laugh! 
well I thought it meant Artificial intelligence as well
The other one used a lot here is DAW - Digital Audio Workstation. It is software that’s designed to handle various tasks associated with music production, including instrument recording, audio editing, audio mixing, looping, etc.
