I just got back from the Sapphire Coast, New South Wales. It’s such a beautiful area!
This is where I was staying

The beach at Bermagui

Cold winter day, a warm fire and a curious cat…

Don’t worry no pets hurt during the making of this picture

Hi Silvia @Silvia80 I spent Xmas 2025 with family at Treyarnon Bay and my wife and I walked to Constantine Bay on Boxing Day before the ā€œcold cutsā€ & pickles!
Lovely part of the world.

How lovely

Jason is it common to have men riding horses to go to the restaurant? Just asking…

Yeah, it is pretty common for both Men and women ride horses. Not in downtown, or in the cemtral part ofnthe city unless there is a parade or something. And you won’t have people riding horses in traffic on there way to work. But there is a lot of desert shared space all over the city. It is very spread out so you will see people on horseback very often in the desert areas or the desert paths along the side of the roads.

Most long time resident ls understand the common rules. Everyone yeilds to horse, then to pedestrians, then to bicycles, 2 wheel and then 4 wheel.

Rodeo is a big deal here. The primary school kids get rodeo week off from school also. Our high school had elective bull riding classes for boys and barrel riding classes for girls. It was a lot of fun belive it or not. Yeah its big alright. :cowboy_hat_face:

In the thread about the winter weather across the US I posted about how cold it’s been here. This is Minnemishenona Falls, a couple of miles from my house.

That looks like a great spot for climbing ice especially for beginners. Look easy to set up a top rope, how tall is that ice formation? 40-50 feet? Thats looks about perfect for that? Nice photo.

Probably about that. I’ve only seen it from above.

This is all very interesting and so far away in my imagination…things that I know of only from movies I guess!

@Silvia80 bring your spouse and come visit AZ. Then you too can ride a horse through the desert among the cactus and jack rabbits. :horse::desert:

I learned to whistle because of these songs in the spaghetti westerns. My dad would let me watch them with him when visiting him when I was little.

Ennio Morricone’s music was always the sound tract to them. My favorite was the good the bad and the ugly, also the Outlaw Josey Wells.

Old Tucson studios is near my property the next valley over, thats where they filmed a lot of the other old cowboy and western films also. Not to mention the real thing happened right here as well. Haha

I’ve never seen anything like that! To be fair, I don’t live near Arizona, I live in Iowa.

Lots of cool rivers in Iowa right? I remember seeing really cool looking geography when I passed through there. Take some photos for us. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
