There is no obligation for anyone to do this but its entirely up to us as individuals. I would only add it to a āQuestionā type topic or post if I was providing and answer but that is MHO.
This time of year there is generally an influx of new users and many arrive here by default, so you can have a full time job trying to sheppard them over to say hello via the Intro topic.
Do what you feel is right for you but donāt beat yourself up for not doing it. Simples.
We had a āhealthā type of section in the old JG forum.
When we moved here, the aim was to rationalise the sections and sub-sections and make it as easy to navigate as possible. Even with that aim, the Community is vast and many people mention that they struggle to know where to look or where to post.
Yes itās always a difficult balance. Too many categories and itās bewildering trying to post in the right spot (and youāre really in trouble if your post covers 2 categories) and too few categories and filtering becomes hard.
That said I just look at the all topics, latest posts anyway.
You do realize that people can post directly from the website lessons. So if someone who has never posted on the forum asks a question on the websiteās lesson page it posts here on the lesson Thread. So they would never know about the introduce yourself thread.
What we need is a reminder to longstanding forum members to not clog up lesson specific thread with chit chat and other garbage not reliant to the lesson at hand.
Richard has enough on his plate without having to take out the garbage everyday.
thatās where some of the latest discourse AI might come in handy to do all the house keeping, post classifications, point people in the right direction, translations etc. We could call the new AI helper Richard mK2 
Or just RichAIrdā¦ 
If we could all just remember & live by what we were taught in Kindergartenā¦

I disagree. Iāve been here for almost 3 years. Iāve responded to many posted questions and even posted my rendition of a song in the performance section of Justinās lesson. I have not, nor will I ever āintroduceā myself, thatās just not me. Come to think of it, that might have just been an introduction.
