Roger's rock on wheels

Short ,Because I came home sick yesterday within an hour, now coughing and lightly sweating and head is bzzzzbzbzzzdongdongbuzzzzzzz so as quickly as i can … Slaks don’t necessarily like beer but the yeast in it… and they indeed don’t really like beer as soon as they drown in buried bottles and glasses … don’t do that , it is teribble :grimacing:(I did it a long time ago too :grimacing: ) …
and only 10% of the snails live above the ground and much less you will catch this way… sometimes just take your losses or become very handy with building protection… of course a difficult job/choice… now back to bed again and scroll something on the phone

Greetings

Sorry to read you feel sick, Rogier, wish you a speedy recovery! I was very amused by all that gardening and snail talking . So funny! Can’t stop laughing when I think about how many guitarists seem to be stalked by those little monsters :joy:. Try to see the positive side - some have wild boars visiting their gardens…
We had that once in a holiday resort - they left a trail of devastation .
All the best and relax! And maybe, when time goes by and all snails passed away, this log will be filled again with a new guitar video of yours !

 Are they reindeer?

We have plague levels of roly polies, and they ate our cucumber seedlings, tomato seedlings, spinach seedlings, basil seedlings, and all my marigolds. Who eats marigolds? Roly polies, apparently…

We’re waging war. We’re not ‘winning’ but we’re not losing as much anymore. :slightly_smiling_face:

Just regular deer we’re a little to far south for reindeer. Should clarify this, In Canada we do have Reindeer, but are larger than European ones and called Caribou even tho their belong to the same species.
These 2 looked like they were going to fight it out but the smaller one made the smart decision and backed down.

So I was lucky this time, the last time I didn’t play the guitar for 10 days or more (once before) I fell out of my chair. Now I have combined it and that makes a big difference
and saves sick days … the day after it started just under 3 degrees above my normal body temperature, I bumped my elbow so hard against a door that this morning I carefully picked up the guitar for the first time also for that reason and it is certainly not over yet :see_no_evil_monkey:
and played carefully fingerstyle accompanied by an occasional mild cough (this was certainly not a "man’s " flu ) … LUCKILY I haven’t forgotten the two songs I played

the best lame snail joke I know and even now it still makes me chuckle …thanks

It cannot be otherwise than that I have seen the same one … yes, it remains very moving, I am so very grateful to those people for what they have done and to those who have sacrificed everything to the maximum :beating_heart:

Yes, I know that they are very effective against snails … about 50 meters away people have two in the garden … it seems great to me, but the garden needs to be a little bigger because I don’t like getting duck poop everywhere on my wheels and also on my hand all the time … and they also like freshly emerging seedlings  (friends have chickens and that happens very often)…Ooo I love ducks…guess where I was the last day I went home sick…watching ducks…will search photo.

aaa there was already a response to beer and snails, I have no memory of that :grimacing:

Good choice :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Nooo ,yes You are absolutely right, I sometimes see on television what they do with the gardens of people who live near here and sometimes also in places where we would like to live within a 20-minute drive from here… luckily those houses are still too expensive

that is such a very sweet word which also describes it much better than the terribly ugly word in Dutch, ‘pissenbedden’ Pissbeds— literally translated… those Dutch idiots ,This makes children and adults look dirty
I know that they can sometimes eat seedlings in the greenhouses, often because there is a lot of organic material in those soils, but mature (and healthy) plants are an experience I have not yet experienced… so sweet a RollyPollie :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

greetings and lets playing guitar again today :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::sunflower:

We took a small detour to the liberation concert but never arrived, instead of music all afternoon and evening an hour later than these photos I was lying flat…
These are very tame together with other species of ducks here and many geese, when I arrive I always get a welcome concert

Seeing how Roger’s LL has become the place to hang out and talk about gardening I thought I’d share some trivia with @sairfingers Gordon and @roger_holland about how fast spring come’s to the Rockies when it finally come.

Calgary experiences an average of 333 sunny days and 2,396 hours of sunshine per year, making it one of the sunniest cities in Canada. This translates to a little over 90% of the year being sunny

This is what that sunshine does to plants when finally it warms up. This is our Nanking cherry bush

Beautiful plant Rick. 333 sunny days in the year! No wonder there’s a stampede to live in your region.

Hi Rick ,
Those picks are more than welcome :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
Cherry is one of the trees that I still miss here… there is now one 20 meters behind our fence, we will never eat them, the starlings are too present here…

 wow,I had no idea…
Oooo Gordon @sairfingers you can’t imagine anything about that

Gardening in the garden Nature itself, everything is full of music, birds, the rhythm of the rain, etc

soon…or…probably later I’ll try to make some music with those ducks ( no BBQ jokes :grimacing:)

I hope you’ve put a dehumidifier inside that guitar Rogier!
Perhaps your next song should be some late 60’s flower power.

So dear friends of this forum, stepping out of my comfort zone ( yes really)and using my LL for what I once intended it

Met Constance @ConstanceClaire in the back of my mind I recorded a real beginning video (and I also set this video to “public” on YouTube
, who cares )… after 30 seconds I would just leave or you would have to look at it like a car accident, for me I hope that it is now a bit better in my head and can now start working on refinement… once a long time ago for Justin I had another one
I think I had just been playing the guitar for 2 months and this one came my way, and Ooooo I really wanted that, but I had to give up quickly, even the first part with the double notes was hell and the 2nd part was unreachable with the Bm and Fm sharp were new words for me,

This is after 5 days of practice (spread in 2 weeks or so)and is full of mistakes and get worse after 30 seconds, a learning project that will take me a long time …

I can’t even imagine how I will learn the complicated part after this first block of 4 short pieces…the whole piece is 2,35 if you play it fast…by far the biggest/most difficult even played much slower song I’m trying to learn :scream:… so many so so so many notes :scream:,

This is how I try to remeber (for me only intresting for later )

Greetings, and watch out for your ears

Oooo…so done, now back to talking quickly about the garden

Hi Rogier,

I thought about doing that tune at one time as well. But it is too new for playing old songs  I’d rather go for the bawdy pub tune or informal country dance a couple centuries earlier.

Sounded quite reasonable for 5 days of practice!

Hi And thanks Michael :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

But that says little about the hours I put into it
I haven’t kept track of it, but at least 3 times a day…of course too long for effective learning, but sometimes I just have to get through days and it’s rapid progress in the background

You are being a bit hard on yourself. The first passage of the piece is quite well played: and the second half will improve when you’ve had a chance to isolate the really difficult sections, slow them down, and practice a little more. It’s a beautiful melody and your guitar is already quite close to singing the first part beautifully.

Well done Rogier, it looks like the main work has been done. You will have to spend some more time to make it smooth and steady. Looking forward to seeing the next version.

Nicely played Rogier.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, many of us would take weeks to get that down to your 5 day standard. This makes me want to seek out Marco Cirrillo but I see a few things have happened on his channel/life.

You played it very well and it has been a pleasure to watch the video.
Thank you for sharing your awesome progress :guitar:
