Sober October

Anyone else on board for the ride ?
Day 8 here, started a day early.
I love the taste of hoppy beers. Brewed my own in 5 gal. buckets for
a few years but they got heavy to handle at my age.
Anyhow, did this last year and ended up making it till the end of Nov.
before falling off the wagon.
Chime in if youā€™re in.
It started in the U.K.

Good luck with your month of abstinence. After October there is Movember and also Veganuary to try if you wanted some other monthly themed objectives.

Febfast and dry-July down here. Febfast is a big ask, given itā€™s our hottest month. Pretty soon thereā€™ll be no booze-approved months left!

Nah. Hockey season is starting. I have a college game to go to tonight. Gotta have a beer afterward.

Over here, itā€™s TournĆ©e MinĆ©rale, and thatā€™s in February. Only 28 (or 29) days, and by then most everyone has had a major alcohol overload after all the parties for the new year

Liking all the input. Including the humor .
Maybe this event no longer exists in the U.K. due to
being very unpopular ?
OK then, grab a pint or two and bottoms up mates !
Funny thing about aging and alcohol though, 66 here, is it takes twice as
long to recover from a night on the town or home for that matter.
Sleep and concentration are noticeably affected as well. Oh to be young.
Carry on.

Canā€™t happen for me, Iā€™m 2/3 of the way through 3 months of cycling across Europe.
Need a cold beer after a long days riding.

Of course, this trip also means I havenā€™t touched my guitars since early August when we left Australia. My tough fingertips are soft again!

have no fear everyone, my brother and I are making up for your sudden glut in supply of liquor. we want to make sure the wheels of production dont slow down so much as to affect future years of scotch/bourbon production :stuck_out_tongue:

Iā€™d say the same, Eddie, but with all the games being around 7-8am in the morning here, Iā€™m having to resort to coffee instead! :joy:
Big game this weekend though so perhaps I should reconsiderā€¦ may need something to drown my tears, your lads are looking the business at the moment! :grimacing: :sob:

Iā€™m aware of Sober October. Not specifically doing it but about 6 months ago I switched up my way of eating to a much healthier one which has meant outside of a couple special occasions where I had drinks with a friend and coworkers respectively, Iā€™ve stopped altogether.

Itā€™s been kind of great. Iā€™m down 48 pounda, believe it or not.

I applaud your effort. Youā€™ve got this.

I did the same. Have lost 40lb since end of June!! Carnivore diet has been crazy good for me

Should be an absolute belter this weekend Jeff. Just the width of a cigarette paper between them I reckon. KO at 2 in the afternoon here so will have the fridge stocked and might have to get my wife to take the kids out to spare them from me shouting at the TV for 80 minutes :joy:. Enjoy the game mate , but not too much .:ireland:
