I might have been playing/learning for 6 years now, but it’s only been in the past couple years that I’ve played electric. I figured if Dylan can plug-in so can I.
I have three amps now. All Positive Grid Spark – The 40, Mini, and Go. They have fit into my practice just fine, but I have always struggled with adjusting them tone-wise. So many options and other variables.
So, I wondering if others had some presets to share that will help getting some good Blues tones – for both single-coil and Humbucker pick-ups.
The Spark Tone cloud is an easy way to share. I have quite a few saved there and a few now even labeled “Blim.” They are okay, but I am still so new to this.
My user name there is: Michael K73 (you can do user searches)
Just a thought

P.s. It would be really cool if Justin Guitar had some presets on there too.
I use Spark 40. I start from the popular presets (by download count) for the song I want to play. Still got the Blues and Hotel California are the last two and they are humbucker Bluesy enough. If needed, I would then adjust some parameters (usually reverb as I play in the small room) and that is it. I don’t spend a lot of time on this yet. Once I get something satisfactory, I just play. I will definitely check your custom ones tomorrow.
I thought I’d try here before making a general post in Blues Immersion. Has anyone come up with a Spark tone recipe they like that is similar to JS’s LP tone in the lessons?
No, you didn’t, Justin has mentioned that in a few recent videos now; and @wdperkins Justin seems to have used his 335 for all the BLIM lessons (still can’t get my head around that acronym ) If you’re after Justin’s tones, that might be a contributing factor if you don’t have something similar.
His singing doesn’t do it for me and his playing is a little flashy for my liking. I prefer going back to the 60’s for my blues fix. There’s so much there.
All due respect, but if you’re not into SRV you’re not listening right!!!
Seriously, I had an aversion to SRV for years and thought he was a “wanna be.” (May I be struck down for that one??!) After hearing a story about Albert King and him I decided to give him a proper listen and boy was I ever humbled by what I heard. . .wanna be? Is/Was and will always be one of the greats. Definitely an SRV convert here. .
