Hello all you lovely people.

As we are collectively vintage folk, we celebrate and make no secret of our advancing years, aching bodies and failing eyesight. We are mature and that’s for sure. I’m among you all in that. And in a very short time I will be reaching one of those milestone birthdays.

On Saturday 31 May I will be 60 years old.

To mark the occasion, I have decided to use Vintage Club #25 (scheduled two days later on Monday 02 June) to offer some gifts (prizes) of my own.
What does the saying have us believe? …“It is better to give than receive”.

Reaching my 25th live stream is something of a milestone number itself and that is reflected in the prizes too.

A pre-emptive happy birthday @Richard_close2u as I don’t visit often and I have no doubt my “vintage” brain will forget when it really is your birthday (although no doubt FB will remind me). Have a good day anyway. :grinning_face:

Thanks Richard, and happiest of birthdays on May 31. From what I see and hear with your zoom sessions, you are indeed not getting older, you’re definitely getting better! I really enjoyed the open D session with you yesterday, 5/12/25. For me it seemed to come easy to play the various chord shapes, and using the fret positions you mentioned made it easy for me. I’ll do a video this week and post it on JG. I keep hearing a song in my head that most likely uses that D tuning, but can’t for the life of me recall the title of it. I keep thinking it was done by the group ‘YES’ back in the day. It has that same ring to it as what we did in the zoom session with you. Thanks again and many more! People ask me what was my favorite birthday, and I always answer, “The next one!” Coming up on 72 in August and loving every moment of it. Seems I do more and more every year, things I never would have thought possible even 10 years ago. Wow! What a blast!!

Happy birthday, Richard, but being 68, I have to protest that 60 is not old. At least it does not seem so in retrospect. But then I’ve started calling 40 year olds “kids”.:grin:

Happy birthday in advance Richard. My lovely wife turned 60 yesterday. It is a wonderful age, at least on her and I’m sure you. I’m still a couple years away so to early for me to comment on myself. :wink:
