Stevie Ray Vaughan - Cold Shot + SOme Improv Jimi Hendrix Who Knows

Love SRV, and tbh its the only song I can use the Univibe pedal a bit, so captured it on video.

Enjoy

Jamie, you did a great job of staying in the groove and you also captured the tone of the song. Staying in rhythm during the solo was impressive. Great performance. This is a song that I attempted to learn many years ago, but never learned the solo, so this give me something to aspire to.

Super groove. You’ve really got that shuffle-circle motion going on a treat.

I think its about the muting, Im not particularly thinking about hitting any strings really, just on fretting the right ones, almost like you are strumming leads, and all about keeping that hand moving in the rhythm. SRV is the king of this, you watch him playing and you have no clue what string hes hitting cause he just looks like hes strumming, he was a phenom!! The best blues player, and I’ll fight people on that, fisticuffs and all!!

Here is some Improv Practice I was doing, was some cool bits in there. Im just fighting to keep myself going as practice. Cool tune to jam over. I need to go learn the little bits where he sings the same melody.

Now this is a blues groove! I love it.Well done.

Hi

I had a friend who was really into SRV. I did give him a whirl at the time, but this was in my thrash days - so didn’t resonate too much.
Anyway, great groove/swing. Captures those old blues greats too.

A great job jamie, it sounded great.
