Upcoming Raffle: What’s Your Dream Guitar Gear?

Justin, I love your idea of contributing one of your old playmates as the raffle prize. A well set up instrument of a certain age is likely to bring some genuine juju and a few good stories to tell to its new caretaker.

It’s probably this part that caused the “oops”:

Especially the “and can be bought by anyone” is not necessarily true, as has been demonstrated by a couple of posters in this thread who are in a tight spot financially.

Definitely a new electric guitar. Or a nice amp, considering I have neither haha.

I love top gear and the grand tour, another good show is Clarkson’s farm

Yes, for sure! A signed well-loved Justin guitar would be amazing!

A raffle is a lovely idea :slightly_smiling_face:

Thinking about prizes it just comes to my mind that being able to learn and play guitar is the greatest prize and benefit of all. It feels like winning the lottery and hitting the jackpot every day.
So we are all winners here already :guitar:  :party_popper:

When suggestions about other prizes than this are considered, I‘d say some smaller ones would be better than one big prize.
It would make more people happy

From a beginner’s perspective, this is what I’d find most enticing (restricted to the realm of stringed instruments)
what could help me mature as a musician

That, I think, really boils down to two, no, make that three things:

  1. Practicing smartly
  2. Goals to strive for
  3. Practice

Ergo, and so forth, etc.

  1. “Get instruction” (Justin apps, course access, tutoring),
  2. A carrot, such as a capable mini amp that’ll do backing sounds so I can play along. Advertise it with a Justin heavy playing along–at beginner level, mid level, advanced level so each can more readily see themselves using it.
  3. More Practice–totally on us
  4. For those in the UK, tickets to a Justin show

Isn’t that what most all of us are working on here?

That our playing brings us joy, and to others too

For me the 1st prize should be an in person lesson with Justin.

Love the way freebies bring out the first time posters.
Raffles…the new polls ? YMMV :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I already posted my opinion about free lessons.

Lots of the suggestions are nice but won’t entice everyone to enter. For example, a new amp. That would be interesting to some but not others. I have 2 good amps and wouldn’t need another.

One of Justin’s guitars is probably something a lot of people would like.

However anyone at any level can benefit from lessons.

I agree that I’m probably not entering to win another guitar or amp or multi fx unit. As nice as they all would be, even a guitar costing thousands would not make me play better

To my way of thinking, I’m confused if there’s people on these forums who wouldn’t be interested in winning lessons or courses given that’s what Justin’s whole thing is about! Maybe they should be out performing instead!

And that’s why winning a guitar in a raffle is the perfect solution for the folks who are better at collecting expensive gear than they are at learning guitar. That way, when I strum the same old 3 chord song on my fancy Martin guitar, I can answer the inevitable raised eyebrows with, “Hey, I won it in a raffle!”

:joy::joy::joy::joy: Yes, indeed, the raffle is the only way to get a really expensive guitar or quad cortex multi effect without feeling guilty :joy::joy::joy:

guys , if you win something you dont need you have 2 options

1/ you can give away what you won to a charity or to Playin’ It Forward and it will go to someone who needs it which is the point of this raffle

2/ you can sell it and with the money you buy the gear you need / want

hey what if some of us need a guitar bc we don’t have one and can’t afford one
ever thought of that

I could get excited about any of the guitars hanging in Justin’s studio, but especially that gold top Les Paul or the round neck resonator guitar, or even the Tele.

Whatever it is, please don’t make any of the prizes “Europe only.”
