The story:
I’m still having a hard time to get originals to my me solo act.
It was mentioned in a team meeting and Justin suggested I should try a co-write.
I think it was a great idea and my immediate response was to begin here, on the Community.
I know co-writing would be a lot easier “in person” but I’m up to trying it digitally. Google Drive, mails, messages, video calls, whatever it takes and what is considered comfortable.
**My aim is to play and sing it and you are, of course, free to do so too ** I’m not looking for a duet though
Always wanted somebody singing and playing a song you envisioned? Do you have a song on the shelve you don’t fancy singing yourself? Got something in your drawer that needs a bit of decoration and creative ping-pong? Not sure about lyrics that are lying around?
We can work on it together.
If it ever becomes a hit, we’ll split the songwriting cash.
The least I can promise is, if it turns out to a be song I like, it can go into my live repertoire

I’m always up for giving it a shot. I’ve only wrote 3 originals though but I’ve just recently started writing. Two of which I’ve posted here. The latest one I’ve still to record which I think has the most potential as a song,
I wouldn’t have it any other way as it helps drive the best out of you and promotes improvement
I used to write some songs back in the days 15 years ago or so, when I was really into music and had lots of time on my hands. After re-entering the game last year I was also thinking to catch up on songwriting again, maybe also revisiting the old stuff. Probably, a co-op project would boost that part again, so I happily throw in my hat.
But as I’m still relatively new to the community and writing might be a little rusty I’m also fine stepping aside for some of the veterans among us.
Hey Lieven. I have quite a few lyrics and snippets of lyrics I’ve been writing saved. I struggle with the creation of a melody, I can do it but it’s a muscle I rarely exercise so it stays weak.
Playa of your ability and forum status is going to get loads of offers, Lieven
Props for asking and I think it’s a good idea to cast the net wide and see what you catch.
I have nothing lying around but am happy to see if the muse strikes if you want to discuss/provide some musical ideas.

Although I’m not interested in writing a song yet, I’m very curious how this whole project will turn out.

This is a very exciting idea / project. I haven’t been too active lately due to commitments etc but this sounds like something really cool. I have written and posted a couple of originals here that have been pretty personal, so I am not sure if that’s the style you are going for. Generally when I write something it just seems to pop into my head and not something that I give too much thought to.

My initial though from your post was, from a novice point of view. “song writing is a skill” that must me learned. Seeing what people come up with can be inspirational.
I think this is a great idea of yours, even if people dont take part it will be very educational and a joy to hear something created from a collaberation. !
Love this idea! Can’t wait to see how it comes together. I will just be happy observing from the sidelines but will be riveted to my seat (as per MJ eating his popcorn above)!
