Lost for words, a huge loss to the community. She welcomed me with open arms when I joined the community and provided support and inspiration throughout my guitar learniny journey. Always enjoyed following her acoustic blues journey.

I didn’t know her well, but I always very much enjoyed the short discussions we had here in the community. I remember her performance in one of community open mics and she played with so much heart and soul. I remember the love for her dogs and I remember her kindness.

She was truly a bright light here. I will always remember her amazing community OM performances. She was always so encouraging and supportive of others as well.

I feel so sorry to read this sad news. My heartfelt condolences to her family and partner. A great loss for the community. I remember her friendly and supportive comments and her passionate ambitions for acoustic blues. Now her guitars fell silent, but not in our memories.

That is so sad to hear. She was a wonderful presence here on the forum as I am sure she was for her family and in person friends. She will be sorely missed.

Thank for sharing this @DavidP I know through email contact and DMs this news would break at some point but Mari shared her condition with a select few from the old house.
If you have direct contact with Krista - assume that is where the news came from - please pass on my so so sincere condolences (I only have Mari’s email).
Though expected, this has hit me like a brick. Mari was a truly wonderful person, a great guitarist and singer, though she’d readily put herself down and a pillar of the Community, especially back in the old forum.
Some of the songs she and Krista shared over the years have been an absolute pleasure to listen to. Her posts in AVYOP will be a timeless testament to her talent and personality, as will be her many JGC Open Mic appearances. If you are unaware of who and what Mari was, go search go listen.
My most memorable moment for me was collaborating with Mari, on the Black Crowes “She Talks To Angels” track back in December 2021, before she reached out and shared her illness with a select few. She played, I sung and Krista mixed and mastered and it is still one of my favourite projects. It was an honour that she reached out and implored that I did the vocals. She had more faith in my singing than I had in myself especially for one of my favourite songs - we did many Key changes to make it fit my range and she just adjusted her playing until it all fit like a glove. Boy, barely see to type now.
And now she’ll be talking to them Angels, face to face and one day I’ll join her.

I am literally shedding a tear now, I was just wondering and telling my wife this afternoon that it took too long before I got an answer to my last and far too rarely asked question “how are you doing now” … I will miss you enormously (while I just got to know you, but your presence and words meant a lot) and I wish your great love Kris much strength in this enormous loss 
… Pancreatic cancer has a bad rep. so do not should it from the roof ( or Someting like that) you joked a while ago… that reputation has unfortunately worth it

This is heartbreaking to read. I have no words after these sad news. My sincere condolences to all her beloved ones.
It’s a huge loss, she was such a supportives, kind hearted member of this community. I recall one of her OM performances I thoroughly enjoyed. She will be missed, but not forgotten.

I didn’t have much contact with Mari but I’ve always been aware of her standing in the community from little bits picked up from long standing members.
