We wish everyone a happy holiday season šŸŽ…

Hello everyone,

This should have said "We wish you a Merry Christmas "in the top with a matching song, but that will have to wait a while and I will take/need some time to make it a little better and yesterday my phone fell into the water (the bad one :grimacing:) and it will take a while before I find a suitable one I think…so that’s a good to combine to take a break from trying …unfortunately a few thousand photos are gone and a lot of music samples/licks/songs are also gone…and no, this fool didn’t make a backup :see_no_evil: …Last week we decided together to open a Cloud account quickly :upside_down_face: and I said to my wife ā€œbe a little quick now because your phone is almost broken and you drop it so oftenā€ and I’ve been saying it for over a year or two … O karma I love you

This should be a cheerful party thread so I’m not going to complain any further … The Christmas/festive season really starts here at Justin on Friday, so posting this now seemed like the right time…

If you want to share a new or old song or Christmas joke be my guest, I will definitely repeat myself too :sunglasses:

I am grateful for this year full of guitar and many new videos that I have been able to watch thanks to the Bluescourse and just as important the enormous time I have spent with Justinguitar…

so I mean all of you with that last  :sunglasses: :man_bowing:

The guitar learning experience is starting to get a little faster over the past six months so building a (slightly too?) big foundation is starting to pay off (well, with a small exception with the song to be posted, hopefully this season )

We wish you …the "we "also really comes from my wife because she is so incredibly happy that I can devote so much of my time and energy to this that she also says this with great regularity… often with a winking word of ā€œthose ladies on the forum get more hearts than me uuhhmā€
Luckily she only sees those ladies

This one from last year is my Christmas song for now to get you in the mood

This month is always one that will be very difficult for many of you due to loss of loved one and/or personal suffering directly to your own body and Christmas is just so so so…a hug, kiss or hand, choose one of your choice :mending_heart:

I would like to conclude with the famous words from my wife "…again …

"honey, here you have money, buy a nativity scene and with the money you have left you can buy guitar stuff "…

This was it ,

Greetings everyone and whatever you celebrate or nothing at all…be kind to each other  :sunglasses:.

Greetings,Rogier :evergreen_tree:

Beautiful Rogier! I remember listening last year when you posted this. I hope you and your wife have a wonderful Christmas period and a prosperous, happy and peaceful new year and many more new years after that. You are one of the cornerstones of this community, and I would like to thank you for all of your support and contributions to not just me but to everyone over the past year and beyond!

I take the hug.

Rogier, you are so incredibly empathetic and caring…

…and funny at the same time.
It feels so good to have you as a (virtual) friend.

Hi Rogier, yes I remember that one from last year. A lovely tune and very well played. Funnily enough I was looking at Justin’s Silent Night lesson today. I’ve said before on another thread somewhere that the problem with Christmas songs that involve this level of expertise/practise, is the short time, a couple of weeks, that you can play them. It’s only the shops that can get away with playing Christmas songs from October!:grinning:
Hope you and yours have a lovely Christmas.

ps. I was watching your video and was thinking wow that’s an impressive amp system Rogier’s got there. Then I realised it was your oven! :joy:

Rogier, you should be named Court Philosopher of Justin Guitar Land. I am most grateful to Justin and his team for taking me so far in two years; and for the group of musical friends I now recognize, learn from and exchange witty remarks with - you as the exemplar Rogier. Best wishes to you all.

Hi, Rogier.
As a retired IT manager I can tell you, that we divide people to those who DO backups and those who WILL DO backups…
Thanks a lot for sharing this video of Christmas song, it was a great pleasure for me.
All the best for you, and all your family, Rogier.

Gordon @sairfingers That is no It’s a coincidence that you are looking for that, there have been many conversations in recent days and I agree with you regarding the effort and playing time, but for me those techniques will be transferred to other songs, especially that Merryxmas finger style, I will be very helpfull very very very very much in the coming year … it MUST al the pain and it took/ take so much time and various bits of efforts / attempts … arggggg puppies kittens sun, happy thoughts happy thoughts

While I’m typing, kind and screeching words to come in, (screeching laugh here means it laughing loudly with long sound ,translation is a bit wrong here )

Jacek @JackPK  … auw…
Thank you very much  and with hundreds of new forum members this year including you  and many old ones who missed it, Christmas is a great time to revisit this kind of old songs…

(Maybe someone will post an old one of his or her here or somewhere else )

John @Guitarman63 thank you very much and nice to see your sunny avatar :sunglasses:

Greetings :evergreen_tree:

Hi Rogier, thanks for the post and for all you do here in the community.

Hi Rogier,
Thanks so much for the wishes, the song and the story that can be a valid warning for some of us, at least
I’ll gladly join the chorus in this awesome topic wishing you and your Better Half  (who obviously supports your passion for the guitar playing) a wonderful Christmas and many, many unforgettable moments at Justin’s website.
Regards
Tomasz

Yeah in my back garden and in the glass is a large G&T I had just finished changing the strings on my V100GT and rubbing lemon oil on the fret board and generally giving it a good clean Roll on summer !

My dear friend, Rogier,
Many thanks for your good cheer and seasonal greetings :christmas_tree: :santa:
Not having you around as much since you took the other turn at the crossroads has been a mixed blessing. I have not had to spend quite as much time defending my pearls of wisdom but have missed some of the banter
I see by the number of your likes and hours spent reading that you remain as ā€˜engaged’ there as previously here…
I’m happy it’s paying off in progress.
I enjoyed your ā€˜silent’ Silent Night and was happy to see your Christmas tree without me swinging from its limbs…

Could be worse- you could be phoning to say your waters had broken

this might be a good time to change your passwords  too

There you go, stealing my limelight again!

Nobody seems to be taking you seriously on this, but I always do. The song for you that springs immediately to mind is A Spaceman Came Travelling

but I shall resort to re-sharing the Christmas song I wrote with @fourtwo in my first year on the forum and earned me a meeting with my mentor. The content remains as relevant now as it was then, and yes, the dark still makes me smile

I have written to our local bishop, asking him to put her name in the mitre as a candidate for canonisation in the next lucky dip.
St. Hermione has a ring to it, eh? (or have I read too much H Potter to the kids?)

Regarding your naiveity nativity scene-
Pay peanuts- get monkeys.

Be kind?
Sure thing.
But don’t forget to be one of a kind!
Happy Christmas everybody!

Hi Steve @SteveL_G99 ,thank you  and so nice to read this comes past the screen and into the houses :joy:

I am glad some will learn from my misery due to the loss of my phone so it is not for nothing Tomasz @Coda …
Thank you very much and nice to see you … and yes she does in an incredible way  :sunglasses:

Well John @Guitarman63 You know how to create a nice atmosphere, I long for the same on this early, wet, dark morning here  :sunglasses:

Thank you Mick @micknew for giving a sign :sunglasses:

A Brian @brianlarsen often finding a nice opportunity for writing a good and long piece to explore the side paths in my head in order that I end up writing sentences that are just a little too long and often to things that need no explanation  :joy:

Here I go ,
it starts with a smile and an Aaaa, how sweet, from my Hermine when finished reading and who has just left for work… what she has done for me and us is indescribable (and still is, but fortunately not comparable to my old situation) and if all the people who also said that light a candle for her at the same time…well ,1 catadral in the fire is enough this century
and …

:see_no_evil: :joy:

Regarding my turn at the crossroads , I really have to say that I spend 95% of my time here (read here and total guitar playing ) (I do have a lot of time to divide however )… when I sometimes look at those statistics I feel I am somewhat ashamed of the number of posts and I am really trying to reduce… it helps that I open relatively few new topics that create extra fuss… but I am very aware of the hustle and bustle for many of the first generation forum… I can scroll through better and better and ā€œsitā€ on my hands and if I have to read on my phone every now and then if the computer has problems or if I have to share the computer for a while… writing on a phone or following in detail doesn’t really work for me than… (ooo about unnecessary information spoken… :see_no_evil:)
ssssssssstdon’t start reading about those hours here ,I could have learned a profession in that time :flushed: (Fortunately, it also includes many hours of documentaries and music listening time …but still :see_no_evil:)

Of course I had thought about this … but what is in the barrel does not sour :smirk:

And also the last bit for this

:joy:

weeks ago when we ordered the tree I thought about it… even before that while driving and walking through a pine forest I said to her, hey, I’ll take a picture of those trees and then you edit them and they all have a ā€œpinkā€ star at the top…we laughed then…unfortunately we couldn’t take a good photo.

 …It’s been a while since my belly was full of water (although you wouldn’t say that now ) … There are more and more memories of periods since my recovery and the first years afterwards, the things we started doing again and so on and photos that go with it that I no longer have…Stupid stupid stupid :upside_down_face: :man_facepalming: …

my own music will come back if it is really good…wich i doubt

:joy:  :joy:  … I’m laughing with tears in my eyes…amazing …We’re going to watch this together tonight …Oooo it is so…uh … my/many many life

Now I wonder the when ā€˜again’ had happened :flushed:
Who reads all that I write here above in detail … let alone who remembers it…

I see a trend

 …But I like it :sunglasses:

Remains delicious and nice and dark :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:…and yes unfortunately

I love monkeys
I’ll just pretend that I don’t understand any English expressions

Tanks for so much …
I still remember well our first contact on the forum …Aaarrgggg :exploding_head:  …no no, It was fun :joy:and for me, hey social media is not always bad …maybe :crossed_fingers:
And when some depth was added soon , it gave a feeling of living room… :kissing_heart:

Thank you all  :sunglasses:

Now some tea … :teapot: :sunflower:

But before drinking the tea, let’s do this first…

Ha ha Deborah @GrumpyMac …No Sorry please  …
I specifically looked it up last night and planned to come back on this…

This is extra funny now, because my first video I posted was…Same song, same day, but with my acoustic guitar and a much much nicer THUMB picture

I also (like more people) started to like the electric version a little more, so I quickly exchanged them .

Thank you

This one especially for you

Thank you for the virtual hug! :hugs:
