Hi Rogier,
Thanks so much for the wishes, the song and the story that can be a valid warning for some of us, at least
Iāll gladly join the chorus in this awesome topic wishing you and your Better Half (who obviously supports your passion for the guitar playing) a wonderful Christmas and many, many unforgettable moments at Justinās website.
Regards
Tomasz
Yeah in my back garden and in the glass is a large G&T I had just finished changing the strings on my V100GT and rubbing lemon oil on the fret board and generally giving it a good clean Roll on summer !
Merry Christmas Rogier
All the best
Mick
My dear friend, Rogier,
Many thanks for your good cheer and seasonal greetings
Not having you around as much since you took the other turn at the crossroads has been a mixed blessing. I have not had to spend quite as much time defending my pearls of wisdom but have missed some of the banter
I see by the number of your likes and hours spent reading that you remain as āengagedā there as previously hereā¦
Iām happy itās paying off in progress.
I enjoyed your āsilentā Silent Night and was happy to see your Christmas tree without me swinging from its limbsā¦
Could be worse- you could be phoning to say your waters had broken
this might be a good time to change your passwords too
There you go, stealing my limelight again!
Nobody seems to be taking you seriously on this, but I always do. The song for you that springs immediately to mind is A Spaceman Came Travelling
but I shall resort to re-sharing the Christmas song I wrote with @fourtwo in my first year on the forum and earned me a meeting with my mentor. The content remains as relevant now as it was then, and yes, the dark still makes me smile
I have written to our local bishop, asking him to put her name in the mitre as a candidate for canonisation in the next lucky dip.
St. Hermione has a ring to it, eh? (or have I read too much H Potter to the kids?)
Regarding your naiveity nativity scene-
Pay peanuts- get monkeys.
Be kind?
Sure thing.
But donāt forget to be one of a kind!
Happy Christmas everybody!
@roger_holland oh my bad , sorry , I thought youād knew about Columbo
Heās always refering to his wife in the show , heās always talking about her but you never see her !
since you were talking about your wife in your post , It made me think about Columbo and his wife
^^
Lovely video by the way , you play so well
I wish Id play as well as you one day !
Hi Steve @SteveL_G99 ,thank you and so nice to read this comes past the screen and into the houses
I am glad some will learn from my misery due to the loss of my phone so it is not for nothing Tomasz @Coda ā¦
Thank you very much and nice to see you ā¦ and yes she does in an incredible way
Well John @Guitarman63 You know how to create a nice atmosphere, I long for the same on this early, wet, dark morning here
Thank you Mick @micknew for giving a sign
A Brian @brianlarsen often finding a nice opportunity for writing a good and long piece to explore the side paths in my head in order that I end up writing sentences that are just a little too long and often to things that need no explanation
Here I go ,
it starts with a smile and an Aaaa, how sweet, from my Hermine when finished reading and who has just left for workā¦ what she has done for me and us is indescribable (and still is, but fortunately not comparable to my old situation) and if all the people who also said that light a candle for her at the same timeā¦well ,1 catadral in the fire is enough this century
and ā¦
Regarding my turn at the crossroads , I really have to say that I spend 95% of my time here (read here and total guitar playing ) (I do have a lot of time to divide however )ā¦ when I sometimes look at those statistics I feel I am somewhat ashamed of the number of posts and I am really trying to reduceā¦ it helps that I open relatively few new topics that create extra fussā¦ but I am very aware of the hustle and bustle for many of the first generation forumā¦ I can scroll through better and better and āsitā on my hands and if I have to read on my phone every now and then if the computer has problems or if I have to share the computer for a whileā¦ writing on a phone or following in detail doesnāt really work for me thanā¦ (ooo about unnecessary information spokenā¦ )
ssssssssstdonāt start reading about those hours here ,I could have learned a profession in that time (Fortunately, it also includes many hours of documentaries and music listening time ā¦but still )
Of course I had thought about this ā¦ but what is in the barrel does not sour
And also the last bit for this
weeks ago when we ordered the tree I thought about itā¦ even before that while driving and walking through a pine forest I said to her, hey, Iāll take a picture of those trees and then you edit them and they all have a āpinkā star at the topā¦we laughed thenā¦unfortunately we couldnāt take a good photo.
ā¦Itās been a while since my belly was full of water (although you wouldnāt say that now ) ā¦ There are more and more memories of periods since my recovery and the first years afterwards, the things we started doing again and so on and photos that go with it that I no longer haveā¦Stupid stupid stupid ā¦
my own music will come back if it is really goodā¦wich i doubt
ā¦ Iām laughing with tears in my eyesā¦amazing ā¦Weāre going to watch this together tonight ā¦Oooo it is soā¦uh ā¦ my/many many life
Now I wonder the when āagainā had happened
Who reads all that I write here above in detail ā¦ let alone who remembers itā¦
I see a trend
ā¦But I like it
Remains delicious and nice and dark ā¦and yes unfortunately
I love monkeys
Iāll just pretend that I donāt understand any English expressions
Tanks for so much ā¦
I still remember well our first contact on the forum ā¦Aaarrgggg ā¦no no, It was fun and for me, hey social media is not always bad ā¦maybe
And when some depth was added soon , it gave a feeling of living roomā¦
Thank you all
Now some tea ā¦
But before drinking the tea, letās do this firstā¦
Ha ha Deborah @MacOneill ā¦No Sorry please ā¦
I specifically looked it up last night and planned to come back on thisā¦
This is extra funny now, because my first video I posted wasā¦Same song, same day, but with my acoustic guitar and a much much nicer THUMB picture
I also (like more people) started to like the electric version a little more, so I quickly exchanged them .
Thank you
This one especially for you
both videos are awesome
I did see the nice thumbnail in your first post , and was wondering where was the lady in your video
Happy holidays Rogier, to you and your lovely wife
So sorry about your phone and everything on it, especially the photos! A Cloud account is definitely worth it!
Silent night was beautiful and very well played - both of them
Thank you for being you and for everything you do for this forum! You make me laugh and cry (in a good way) at the same time. But mostly laugh you are very funny!
Thank you for the virtual hug!

Have a wonderful, peaceful and safe holiday season

Hi Deborah @MacOneill that was Quickly noticed of you , there is always one who sees your mistakes
Thank you very much
Jasmine @Avalon426
very kind words, thank you ā¦
Yes and the more hours pass the more we find out that I was using my phone as a decent storage bank for more than I can record nowā¦ this weekend or just after Iāll start again with a clean slate, with cloud yes yes with cloudā¦
I sit with a big smile and full of gratitude after readingā¦
HĆ© Gunhild @Gunhild Havenāt seen you in a while (very quickly and gone again) ,very nice for dropping by thank you very much ,and what an very very sweet words, if you write them down like this then you will probably know what it means to me, but Iāll say it anyway
Christmassy( ) greetings
Hi Constance @ConstanceClaire How nice of you to drop by ,thank you very much , next year I expect nothing less than a fingerstyle Christmas song from you ā¦ or the year after that or maybe after that ā¦ if you continue as it is, that shouldnāt be a problem
Thank you all
What a morning, I hope you all realize that this gives me extra energy to get through the dark days with a cheerful feeling, and strengthens the connections and now with a winter storm howling through the garden, this gives off a lot of warmthā¦
also thank you for just reading and leaving good vibes on the first post
Australian christmas sounds very attractive now
Thanks Rogier for sharing it once moreā¦it was very sweetly played and a most enjoyable Christmas treat for my ears
I wish I could be there to see the expression on your wifeās face when you showed her the nativity scene you made for herā¦ah, how much holy patience!
Hello Rogier
Thank you so much for your very kind response. You always find such friendly and heartwarming words
You are right, Iām surely not one of the most active contributors here
I guess Iām more of a listener and reader than a talker and frequent poster.
But Iām sneaking around here a lot and still love and enjoy this community as much as I did on the very first day.
And thanks to the continued kindness and motivation from all these great members here, I still enjoy playing and practising a lot
ā¦ haha, even though Iām still in Grade 3
Wishing you and your wife a very merry cheerful and musical Christmas time
Hi Silvia @Silvia80
Thank you very much and for dropping by
Itās quite amazing how our brain fills in such things and even without words everyone sees a nativity scene in itā¦ I canāt stop grinning about it
Hi Gunhild @Gunhild
Thank you
Very nice to read and nice that you take this opportunity to say something , those are the moments that matter the most ā¦ Good that you continue to play and grade 3 is a very big and important one that I did to fast but now still staying/playing/learning there on a regular basis
Thank you
Dear Rogier!
Thank you for your lovely Christmas wishes! Iām sending out my best wishes to you and your lovely wife ! A big virtual hug for being such a nice and thoughtful community member. Without you, this wouldnāt be the same place .
You inspired me with your electric version of āSilent Nightā and I decided to give it a go. Still a work in progress, but I wanted to pick up your invitation to contribute to this thread! I posted the video in my log, as Deborah opened a second christmas thread and I didnāt want to select one (so I leave my link here and in Deborahās thread).
Hi Andrea,
How sweet to see you here and I was just visiting you while I was going through my notification from top to bottomā¦
Your words mean a lot and everything where you want to post/post is of course perfectā¦I sometimes say something subtly ( yes sometimes )and then hardly anyone picks up on it and some just donāt want it for various reasonsā¦itās all goodā¦no pressure/choice stressā¦thereās already enough of that when weāre looking for our next guitar
and what strikes me is your modesty about your song ā¦it is goodā¦hear the few versions that can be heard here, yours is really a top one to listen toā¦
O which I forgot to tell you ā¦those rolling chords are quite nice too
All the best and, that there are literally dark and silent nights, clear days and that the energy comes back
Thanks you
Rogier, thanks again for your kind words. I picked your thread up as an invitation and somewhat expected, a few more people would do so.
Thanks for the compliments on my Silent Night. Not really sure about āa top oneā . But still a bit time for polishing and then the song will stay in my ālifetime repertoireā, so will probably get better over the years.
Thanks for the feedback for the rolling chords, good to read that the ārollingā is coming through,
I hope we spend lots of future christmas seasons together here in this community and are able to share our progress on this one when we are real old dogs !
Thanks for all the good wishes, Iāll give them back to you !
I apologized to Rogier in PM cause I had doubt whether it was an invitation or not
my bad
