ā€˜White sugarā€™
I read the stones retired this song from their gigs a couple of months ago, due to the offensive lyrics. Keef doesnā€™t understand why.
If they can keep the show rolling long enough, it may be back

Thatā€™s true Brian, Iā€™ve also read a few articles about the song. Some of the lyrics Iā€™ve come across in some other genres also seem pretty offensive. Without getting into this, I guess it brings back bad memories of the 19th century. Best I move on before I cross the line ā€¦

Looks like the show is likely to roll on in 2022 to celebrate 60 years of rocking and rolling. And in an ironic twist of fate, Keep reunited to perform live with the Winos recently, first time in 30 years. I do love the first and third Winos albums.

Haha, I got dragged into a similar discussion on this threadā€™s equivalent here .
I have no intention of pokinā€™ that sleeping dog at the moment

I recall, and am with you, Brian. I was certainly not trying to drag you into anything or poking the bear with any vigour. Though some may say saying absolutely nothing in comments is an even better strategy and we just let the songs go by.

And Iā€™ll happily remove this if folk generally find it to be crossing the musical line.

But I canā€™t lie, I do like the song ā€¦ Keef riffing on open G, Mick Taylorā€™s lead, and Bobby Keys sax solo ā€¦

I probably use more ā€˜offensive languageā€™ in my songs than most here-
I still enjoy lobbing bricks out of my greenhouse

Our depressive Norwegian @tRONd reminded me of another depressive Norwegian postman who wanted to become a cowboy/country western singer.
He did.
He died

(I like it so much I did an altered lyric cover version here)

Wow. I am impressed Brian. Even in Norway he is not considered Ā«bigĀ» sad story behind hin though. I love him of course, im a sad sobber my self :rofl::rofl:

Pedal show is live

Hey is anyone watching Rock Till we Drop? Might strike a chord (sorry) with some of us mature players  apologies to those outside UK who donā€™t receive bbc2 BBC Two - Rock Till We Drop

Despite my VPN being set to London I still get blocked from iPlayer but missed this on Freesat as not watching much TV these days. Knowing the Beeb and their music progs it will be on repeat at some stage, as they need something to fill the small weekend hours. Thanks for the flag will keep an eye out.

Itā€™s rare you stumble across two related niche gems you never knew existed before:
The wonderful Half Man Half Biscuit from neighbouring Birkenhead with Joy Division Oven Gloves

ā€¦and then the actual item

New song to learn, hot off the press : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWQUkRKqp2E&t=9s

Well, as is common these days Sophie had me up at 0530 and I can never get back to sleep, once my monkey mind kicks in. So with all the extracurricular Blues Brothers meanderings, my mind turned to future riffs and soloā€™s to learn or at least consider. Around 0600 Ritchie Blackmore said Hi what about Rainbow. Chushty thought I and I must have dozed off.

Having been a long time since listening to the first two albums in full, the digital copies were dropped onto my phone from the PC library and the earbuds checked for charging. Some great work found here, from doable to light years from my playgrade but youā€™ve gotta have goals !

Sunshine, views of Mont St Michel and a riverside walk with a fantastic soundtrack. Good start to the day. And so back to Layla
