Great share Darrell, strangely I lost track of the band with the emergence of 'Maiden and had most of their early albums on cassette, purloined from my brother. But my old manās music system stretched the life out of most of those tapes and then ended up in a skip.
Added to my YT Watch Later list.
Think Iāll be doing some digital diving and see whatās out there.
Anyone familiar with Slaid Cleaves ? American folk artist who tours heavily in the US and toured through the UK and other parts of Europe back in 2017.
This song kinda hit home because I lived next to Flagstaff Lake
back in the 80s. Worth checking out some of his other work if this song sets off any interest.
Currently busy with a rather taxing paper as part of a work-related study programme. Iād rather be occupying my time with something music related but happy to have Peter Green for company. What a player, he was. Still had it in 1998 in this concert.
My brother as started a second vlog on his YT channel titled āWondering aloud in my galleryā. The title inspired somewhat as a nod to my own series āSongs from the playroom (not the Wood)ā, both now a nod to Jethro Tull. So before watching this weeks wonderings, I gave a listen to the song āWondering Aloudā, which I could not place. Well I couldnāt place it until the first notes. What a magnificent song off Tullās forth album, Aqualung released in 1971. An album from which the title track Aqualung and the all-time classic Locomotive Breath are probably generally well known ā¦ at least to us older generation who tend to harken back on the 60s/70s rather than the 90s/00s
Hereās a triple play from that album. Best enjoyed through headphones with the volume up
After watching the Parisienne Walkways finale of Gary Mooreās show at Montreux 2010, I wondered if the entire show might be available. It was and is a thoroughly entertaining watch, showcasing his ability playing many of his most popular songs, his brand of rock flavoured with a little celtic and blues spice. Seven months later he passed on.
Happened to watch an interview with Ian Paice (founding member of and drummer in Deep Purple) and learned that he was the drummer in Mooreās band between '82-'84, during a Deep Purple hiatus. He spoke of how Moore never saw himself as a blues guitarist and was a little painted into an unwanted corner after the success of Still Got The Blues. No idea how true that may be.
