Unfortunately none of my accolytes can join me for the fun- I’ll be flying solo
This is a young lady who I think is doing really well, this is from her Christmas end of term concert, she finishes school this year. She plays the Guitar solos on this - I think she did a pretty decent performance!
Lucy Gowen Comfortably Numb cover
Wow, well done. I love to see stuff like this from the up-and-coming generation.
Thanks Dave. Found it interesting, love me more factoids
,…For all young viewers, … feel free to come to our capital, but don`t do drugs, … you will see strange things happen
what-are-you-currently-listening-to?
There is of course only one right answer,;… to my wife of course every day again
A few of my current favourites, starting with Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile. I love how they sound together:
Martin Harley and his band are incredibly talented. Somehow saw them live in a small countryside village hall a few years ago. Seemed strange to see such talent in such a small venue but hey-ho:
Walter Trout
I went to a B.B. King concert at The Royal Albert Hall a few years ago and Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks were playing and I had to look into their music after that gig. This is a bit of a highlight:
She’s been playing in gigs since she was 7 Dave, that’s what really makes the difference - zero stage fright!
Here’s her first gig
Lucy Gowen first gig
Had not seen Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile before, I will have to find time for more. I’ve got some Walter Trout on my iPod. Tedeschi Trucks is definitely one of my favorites, have seen them a couple of time. They are great to watch, and the way they exchange looks with each other at different times while they play makes it clear that they love what they are doing and love to do it together. Or at least they’ve got me fooled if that’s not real. Plus, they have great musicians in the band and of course Warren Haynes (not sure if he is with them these days).
Ok, so I thought at first she was just going to strum on beat 1. Yeah, well I was wrong-o on that!
A couple of months ago, while researching acoustic guitars I ran across Molly Tuttle. I’m not usually a fan of bluegrass or country, but as a budding guitarist I am amazed and inspired by her playing. This particular recording is one of best live performances I’ve seen. It would have been amazing to be in that room.
Is there a word for that strumming technique? Is that clawhammer playing? Pretty amazing.
@Dave911 I think that the first song is cross-picking. I think that the second song which starts at 3:34 is using clawhammer.
The last line of this song is one of my favorites of any song.
“If my baby don’t love me no more, I know her sister will.” Bold, Jimi, bold!
Well I was on the lookout for something different, I found this artist from my go to ‘reaction to’ channels; she’s very talented, strange but true she did most of the singing parts in “Frozen”
Well, if you ask me, she had shown she can sing way before Nightwish, since was with After Forever. Just my humble opinion though
I quite agree, I only recently discovered Floor, having looked much further into her career I don’t think that my comment was phrased right.
I am now fully aware of her abilities and really appreciate her, she’s just an amazing singer and person.
