I was watching the Funky Monks my wife said Anthony Keidis and Amy Winehouse were a thing so then I went to that for a few to watch her talk about Fender Strats.
And also listened to Natalie Merchant song Gold Rush Brides wondering if this is a possible guitar song.
I still have not gotten back to the Funky Monks. People are shooting guns in the air and lunching fireworks so my dogs are a bit freaked out. Lol 3 hours to go until new year.
Is it GAS to want a Rattlesnake Tail ? Try explaining that one to the missus !! You bought WHAT !!
Technical question for the more spiritual guitarists out there, would that effect the E string too much ? Guess you’d have to compensate but heck that sounds really cool.
Thanks for that.
TBH, I was sort of expecting something like Grandad’s Little Diddy by Primus, but it’s nothing at all like that! Which is very good, because that would have been totally out of character with everything else I heard.
I’m a great Beatles fan, but production/video aside, this song (for me) is no better than most originals posted here on the forum
If this wasn’t Ringo, or his advanced age, I doubt if many other than friends and family would give it a spin…
And the lyrics? “Live to fight another day…”
doesn’t sound like “Good things are gonna come your way!”
(N.B. The last time I complained about Beatles lyrics, I ended up writing my own ‘improvement’.
I won’t be going down that hole again )
I don’t think we are expecting, or at least I’m not, Billboard charting albums from Ringo at his age.
I believe that for Ringo these last few albums have really been more about working with artists he admires or younger performers he’d like to draw some attention too. In this case Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, and Lucius.
@brianlarsen, I don’t think these qualify as Beatles lyrics - most of the songs on the album were written by T Bone Burnett (also no youngster)…on this song credit is additionally given to Daniel Tashian. Ringo is just doing what Ringo has always done - gratefully and generously riding the wave that life has given him! Oh - and spreading peace and love . It’s fine to not want to observe him doing that…but I need the smile at this moment! Of course, I sometimes listen to William Shatner sing too…but for different reasons…
