I love you for this one!
This stayed always in my heart from back when…
I first listened to two albums of his on my sister’s brand new Sony Walkman when Grönemeyer started to become famous - those were the first times I experienced Stereo and then on headphones - wow!
Just along the initial album of Dire Straits - it took me some time to get used to many of the songs (but they always remained among my (very many) favourites later), my first love there was this one… still love the percussion and the guitar playing so much…
Good thing that the You Tube provides a constant supply. Just working my way through this, knock yourself out !! Just a couple of hours of life’s observations.
Great talent musically and lyrically. Enjoy !
There’s not so much an accent on guitar here, but I just came across that (in France) well known song and find that young singer quite impressive for his age.
This is (as far as I know) the best known kids pop group in France and I am really proud of my nephew who since a year or two is sitting there at the piano.
Somehow - here the background singers sound quite a bit worse in the first quiet part than they do normally, but they catch up in the louder second part.
What do you think-… in the first part, I think the guitar doesn’t sound good, I would drop it and just leave bass, piano and drums, later in the piece it sounds much better.
Christmas Eve, family has all gone to bed and I’m doing some late nite Utoob surfing and keepin an eye out for Santa. Some random goodness with zero linkage bar Justins’s if it sounds good . . . .
And sometime you just need 3 chords, with a little chromatic shift.
And a bit of Aussie rock, before I hear those Reindeer hooves on the roof tiles !
Have you been good ? Really really good ? Hope you get what you wanted this Christmas. Does not have to be a material thing, sometimes a little stability will do or just some spiritual alignment and peace. Hope Santa brings what you asked for.
Well after the first Christmas Day with the family since pre Covid, they have all crashed and burned, leaving me with a nice bottle of Cabernet-Syrah with a wonky neck and some chillin time.
Had this stashed in YT Watch Later and now about a third through. Although this is from 2017 Ms Crow looks damn fine for 55 and ain’t bad now at 63 !! And a late starter her rhythm playing has always been way way deep in the pocket and something for all guitarists to watch. So far a mix of old and some really great new material.
Might not finish it all tonight but a great way to end the day.
The applause by the crowd at random points midway through the song. Usually only get that for a solo by the fiddle player at bluegrass festivals. Never quite understood why they do that. Was amazing guitar playing.
Last day of the family’s yuletide visit. Listening in the kitchen to Planet Rock’s 10 Year Anniversary of Lemmy’s passing with my daughter while cooking dinner and feeding the masses. In the tooing and froing I might have missed this but I am convinced they did not play it. But I will as it is one of my favourite Motorhead tracks and shows the bands true Blues roots.
Live recording but I have used Lemmy’s Mega closure many times on these hallowed boards to give folks a nod of a job well done.
