What are you currently listening to 2025?

Royal Republic last night in Lausanne.

These guys really know how to perform. Our venue in Lausanne is a very small place. They really interacted with the audience and Adam Grahn, the singer, even got down in the crowd to perform but also just to talk to people. This was more than just a regular gig but a real show from start to finish. You can tell that these guys love performing and every band member interacted with the audience. Great musicians too. I can highly recommend seeing this band live.

Here are some pics.

Wowzers this is good.

I was talking to friend and she reminded me when we all used to hit up the raves in the bay area for a couple of years during the very early 90s while they were still super underground. They were really crazy. So I have been listening to music that reminds of that stuff. We didnt really fit the rav scene look being punk snowboarder skaters from the mountains. But yeah we would group up and hit them because whats not fun about 200 delicious people glowing under blacklights and strobes and trying to catch musical notes floating in the air while hitting the beat beat bwat beat to house music cranked up, in some sketchy warhouse in Oakland for 9 hours? If you want some classic acoustic Tennessee Poe, jump right in around the 30 minute mark. Soulful southern bluz for sure girls !

Ken Pomeroy’s beautiful cover of a great John Denver song that says everything about the power of the guitar.

Gonna hit 70 in a few months and in the decades of listening to music I know things are cyclic. What goes around comes around and I know a few songs with them lyrics.

Mr Zimmerman pushed the rebel bell back in my early youth and though he appears to be a corporate profit hawk these days, some young bloods rise from his ashes.

So from Bobby D’s Master of Water, here’s a latter day question on peace.

Love his stuff. He has a video of a live duet with Joan Baez doing a BD song. Not a coincidence I’m sure.

Do you have a link to that ? Didn’t know he did a tag team with Joan.
Going google deep dive to find more . . . hold the line caller !

Fook one of me favourite Dylan songs. Sheet Jesse n Joan blow this away. Like the more laid back subtle tempo and I’d tried for a few years to play Bob Z original.

Great to see Baez still gigging !

Almost snap ! But good enough for me.

Jesse is the new Dylan in respect of protest and provocation, thoughtful times that are much needed. And in a very simple approach musically.

So Jesse could be a bit of a tightrope in this non-political forum environment but evokes the essence of an early Dylan before the world new what Bob was about.
And no one complains about the old Dylan now, Hopefully that will be enough for folks to embrace the new broom.

Life . . . .is like a rollin stone !
