What are you currently listening to 2026?

Wowzers, there’s some guitar history between that pair.

There seems to have been a bit of a resurgence of Genesis and Phil Collins stuff recently, including in the community. This popped up in my YT feed as well. It’s from their more poppy era, but it’s still a pretty good track.

Believe it or not, this is 40 years old, but like so many old songs, still feels pretty fresh and relevant.

Cheers,

Keith

Larkin Poe again

Mad as a Hatter. A song about mental illness, dedicated to their grandparents who were slipping away.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to get to old age. Making peace with the fact that we’re here for a limited time and viewing life as a gift to be appreciated helps.

U2 have put out a new EP. Generally I was unimpressed, the songs just don’t have a catchy riff, nothing that really grabs your attention and makes you want to tap your foot. I’m a huge U2 fan, their early albums were a huge influence on my musical journey. Disappointed.

Yours Eternally was the best of them, I could at least listen to that the whole way through without getting bored.

Spurred by discussions of songwriting I’ve rewatched this mini-masterpiece.

One of my favourite Wings songs

Two songs from Donovan: notice how relaxed he is, particularly in the second song. Good strumming and picking.

Miles Kane concert in Lausanne tonight. If you like Brit pop and rock from the 80’s then listen to Miles. It was a great show and all the musicians were excellent. A great live band.

Beautiful Gibson semi-hollow too.

I learnt about Eddie Lang from the book ā€˜The Devil Is In It: A History of the American Acoustic Guitar’… Eddie predates Django and company by a decade or so…

And now for something completely different… Karma Sheen fuse Hindustani Classical music and rock. Here’s one that I like a lot. I learnt about them from an interview in some Guitar magazine…

I was not expecting this on my youtube feed this morning. She still rocks.

That’s a great tune - i plan on trying to add it to my repertoire. I think it’s D-A-G throughout the whole song.

Hey thats awesome, some of his collabs are a bit soft for me but I think its killer he is doing cool stuff with others… My wife and I are Seeing Primus on June 30th again. The Claypool Lennon Delirium is going to be performing as well as an opener. Really stoked about seeing them play togeather on stage. I like a number of songs from their collaboration.
