When I saw James Taylor it was the same- no fancy show, just an amazing guitar player sitting in a chair entertaining a concert hall full of people. I loved it.
Fresh from a rock opera āJÅ«ratÄ ir Kastytisā (Jurate and Kastytis) performed by, got to say, Lithuanian music legends (at least for me). Based on an old 19th century folk-tale, but probably made most famous in the small 20th century poem by Maironis; and later-on, as a theatre-play. The rock opera is about a JÅ«ratÄ, daughter of Neptune (but not a mermaid, though). She lived in a fishermen village and was fancied by Kastytis. JÅ«ratÄ, unfortunatelly drowns in raging waters, but her body (or maybe soul) is desired by the god of all gods Thunder (well, I now see that it also has roots with the Persephone and Hades mythos). Though, the body, that was washed ashore was taken by her loved one, who begged other gods to bring her to life. Neptune agreed, but this angered Thunder. And we have your usual discord.
Did I like it very much? Nah. Personally, liked a couple of songs, which majority knew, because this is an oldish modern rock-opera, just again re-released after 20 years, liked the setting and the choreography. But all in all would not go again to it.
Well, next in line will be Tarja Turunen Christmas concert in Vilnius this Tuesday.

Fresh from Christmas With Tarja (ex-Nightwish vocalist) in Vilnius Compensa Concert Hall. I have actually forgotten that I bought front-row seats, itās just a bit tad bad that some of the speakers distorted part of the view, but, eh, Tarja, man! Wow, hearing her sing liveā¦ even if Christmas carols with a pinch of metal added, was something else. Now, the concert hall was only half full, maybe less than a thousand people attended, but IMO thatās granted, considering that that concert originally supposed to have been in 2020 during Xmas time.
First: Shakin Stevens, Reading 1989!

First: I think it was this concert with a bunch of local bands. I was maybe 12-14 years old at the time. Two bands I remember were a 3-piece Alternative Rock band named Jacobās Well and a 7-piece Ska/Swing band named Seven.
Last: Iām also a bit fuzzy on this one, itās been a long time, like 10 years ago or so, but I think it was TobyMac, a Christian Pop/Hip Hop/R&B guy and his band. I really canāt recall any since then.
Next: No idea, but, I actually had tickets to see Reel Big Fish and the Aquabats in April 2020, which of course got cancelled as the pandemic rolled in. So that would have came next.
One of my favorite bands from my youth, a Ska-Neo-Punk-Rap-Metal-Surf-Grunge-Core (or Ska-Core for short) band, The Insyderz, are reuniting for a couple of shows this year. I would like to go, but donāt know if I can make any of them, as they are not near me, and Iām in school.
Nice one Adi. Please let me me know what you think? I didnāt think they were still around but I loved them back in the 00ās.
