Where to post?

Hi all Hec here so I am getting back on line and looking at catching up with the community, I have promised a few posts and while thinking about them ie, my 1 to 1 with Justin and two more artist interviews, and a cover song to finish with a couple of other members, I wondered while looking around at where to post each and I realised that some posts just go un noticed, even if the are posted in the correct place or maybe should I say un noticed by the people they are meant for. As a fairly new community member is this a fair point I raise or should I just continue posting where I think they should go cheers Hec

Hi Hec you could post your 1 to 1 in this thread The 1-to-1 Sessions. The artist interviews I would presume would be filed under the just chatting category. Thesong for the collaboration would depend on whether you are looking for someone to collaborate with or whether you are posting a collaboration recording.

Hi Hec,
You should always try to post in the most appropriate section.
The 1 to 1 with Justin should fit in well with the thread already created here
I’d be inclined to add the interviews to your Nick Scrase Interview thread, even if it’s different artists. You can always modify the title.
Alternatively, Learning Logs are where I post most of my thoughts these days in order to not clog up the system
Think about tagging people you might want to see the post. They’ll be more likely to respond as well, meaning the topic will get ‘bumped’ and higher visibility.

So the reason I asked was when you go to 1 to 1 lessons it asks if I want to revive it because the last post was back in 2022 so I wasn’t sure but cheers im going on it lads

Pick the title of the post wisely. If it looks like Click Bait then you’re not going to get much of a responce.

Hi Hec ,Think twice where / what or if to post, but especially if you post in existing topics don’t ever stress about it :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

It may be worth your while checking out the high level Categories that can often give a good starting point.

https://community.justinguitar.com/categories

If you have a particular post in mind, see if it looks like it belongs to a particular category. If not sure go to that category and drop down to the next level and see if there is a sub-category that matches what you are about to post.

End of the day, if you drop it in the wrong place, the mods will pick it up and move it.
And it’s always good to keep them on their toes !

Maybe they get noticed but there’s not much people have to say about them?

Personally I use the “latest” posts option so I see everything regardless of which section it’s in. If it sounds interesting I’ll read it and if it’s click bait I’ll ignore it because I hate being played for a fool. If no thought has gone into the title I probably won’t read it because there’s only so many hours in the day.

Yeah, I hate thread titles that tell me nothing about the content of the thread.

Topic hijacking has to be done judiciously and only to people who you know won’t mind.

Hi Hec. The reality is that out of 181742 registered users (today’s figure) only a few dozen are regular contributors to the Community site. Many people view but don’t comment or ‘like’ posts. If you look under your post you’ll see for example this topic has had 104 views (today’s figure ).
