Wild World - Cat Stevens

Hey, hey, Gordon!! So good to see you back with your one-takes.

I’m not one to tell you how to improve, (even though we both may have arrived on this forum around the same timeframe and have learned about the same). However, you can critique me, next time I post something :wink:

So for that, I say I was so excited to hear/see you playing and singing again. Great riffs IMO! I love your stage presence. You are a :star: in my book!

That was excellent. The single note runs look quite difficult.

Nice singing.

Hi Gordon,

wonderfully sung and super smooth strumming … :clap: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :clap: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:and most of the embelisments were a cherry in between … :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

So now you’re off the hook for another long time/ year (? :roll_eyes: ) so enjoy your rest now that these people can no longer nag you for a new song quickly :grin:

Just thought of you this morning during breakfast as the garden season starts here today… :sun: :honeybee: :ant: :butterfly: warm (14+ and rising tomorrow), sunny and the first day of spring… :partying_face:will hopefully supplement my LL with some pics later

Greetings and your video made my start the day with a big smile :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Craig, Ian. Thanks for taking time to listen and comment. Much appreciated as always.
The riff is a descending C scale Ian. Like anything else it just takes practise!

Hi Gordon,
I thought to myself when I saw your post, that it had been a while since you posted. Alas you confirmed such.

This is a good song and you have done it up right. I guess the Inn Keeper was able to find some “bad and ugly”, but to me they were minor speed bumps in the road.

Keep it up and I hope for 26’ you are not one and done!

Hey Pam, great to hear from you and thanks for the listen and support. Yes, I think we both started this adventure at about the same time. I’d happily take any critique from you. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
@roger_holland
Thanks for listening and commenting Rogier, I’m glad I got your day started with a smile!
Yes, the first day of meteorological Spring. I cut my grass yesterday but unfortunately it’s more moss than grass! It’s been so wet this winter. A big bag of moss killer/grass feed was delivered this afternoon so that’ll be my job soon. The only good thing about moss is it’s green. :joy: I look forward to your garden updates on your LL.

Thanks for taking time to listen and comment LB.
No I’ll not be one and done in 2026.
As for the Inn Keeper, the points he raised were correct and as I’ve said in previous posts I’m happy to receive honest critique. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Hey Gordon

Nice to hear from you in AVOYP again! I have missed your one-take Wednesdays :slight_smile:
This was very enjoyable! You were so relaxed, especially with those runs! And very nice smiles :grinning_face:

This is one of those songs that I always hear the words wrong since I was a kid. I always thought it was a wide world, although, wild is definitely correct, in more ways than one. And, if you wanna leave, take a cab… :joy: anyway… :roll_eyes:

I also want to straighten up a capo when I see it crooked like that, but I’ve noticed that Justin does that sometimes too.

Hope to hear your next one soon :slight_smile: :sunflower:

@Avalon426.
Hi Jasmine. Thanks for listening and I’m pleased I’ve been able to help you learn the correct lyrics to the song. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
As for the squint capo, it’s difficult to avoid hitting it with your hand and knocking it off line when playing chords such as Am. I don’t really think it matters so long as the capo holds the strings firmly on the fret.
